And so Jonathan is to blame for the backwardness of the north that propelled them to kill themselves? Even the vegetable in London openly supported the boko haram then and boko boys nominated him to represent them at the dialogue table!
Today nko? If the patron of boko haram has successfully defeated boko haram, what are your kith and kin still doing in Idp camps? Why haven't they returned home? Now don't tell me they have no houses to go back to because an average almajiri does not need a roof over his head to survive. The mud and thatch needed for their elites to rebuild whatever was destroyed by their own people are abound in bushes free of any charges.

How did GEJ destroy the economy?

Pls kindly posts facts to back up the regurgitated bullsh1t you got from Lai Mohammed

Reports have it that by 2030, many cities will run strictly on electric smart cars. This is just 13 years from now.
If Nigerian leaders do nothing from now till then to restructure how our economy works, will you blame the president in 2030 or all the presidents that were aware of the disaster coming, yet did nothing.

Ngozi Iweala started screaming about this shale gas revolution and it's coming impact way back in 2012. What did GEJ do?

GEJ's open support for corruption did serious damage to this economy. I am not saying Buhari's administration is perfect, but they are fighting corruption in a civilized way and we should encourage them.

To be frank, these old men are not educated for the modern world. None of them seem to understand how to run an economy. They focus solely on social issues without realizing that real economic issues as poverty create even more terrible social issues. If the Borno people weren't extremely poor, there would have been no Boko Haram. If there wasn't pervasive poverty in the country, there would have been no call for Biafra.

As youth, we need to support our fellow youths. We need scatter this system and rebuild a new one. Hopefully, this will be achieved through peaceful means.

The two main issues to me why Nigeria is a shit-hole are government's source of income and its distribution of wealth.

No democratic successful country on earth is run on mineral wealth but on taxes. Taxes form a contract between the leadership and the citizens. The leaders use the taxes to provide goods to the benefit of the general public. He who pays the piper dictates the tune. When the people fund their government, they hold it accountable to deliver infrastructure.

In the UK, 90 percent of government spending comes from small and medium scale enterprises. Government has developed infrastructure to enable such enterprises to succeed, yet only about 10 percent of startup companies survive after 3 years.

Here in Nigeria, our leaders Introduce entrepreneurship courses to universities and then tell youths to be employers of labour instead of job seekers. They employ their relatives as government workers and spend 90 percent of government's earnings on paying their relatives, providing no infrastructure to support small scale businesses.

To further make matters worse, government consistently sells treasury bills/bonds to banks at a high interest rates and then uses the funds to pay its relatives rather than build infrastructure. This gives our banks huge profits, so they become uninterested in granting loans to riskier small scale businesses (crowding out effect). Government then hypocritically creates competitions to grant loans to citizens, mostly their relatives, at a slightly better rate.

The second issue is the sharing of government wealth. How can Lagos state with the highest voting totals have only 20 lga's and then Kano state will have 44. This is madness. It would take a serious government one week to correct this injustice.

By simply using past voting records, a local government can simply be defined by a number of people. Using this number, lga's can be regrouped accordingly. States can then be defined by a number of local governments that want to belong together. Once that number is reached. Grant the people their wish, after all this is a government of the people for the people and by the people.

All this nonsense talk of a state being non viable is because our older leaders only think of mineral resources as wealth. Every state can be viable if managed through taxes from people's efforts.

With our oil money, world Bank says over 60 percent of our population live in extreme poverty. We are one of the poorest nations on earth and that is why Boko Haram, Niger delta militancy and IPOB have risen. IPOB has so far taking a non-violence stance. This is highly commendable. While I truly do not want Nigeria to be broken up, I understand that our leaders are absolutely clueless and the only way to remove this crop of leaders may be to break up the country. A divided Nigeria with regions not receiving monthly oil money will force them to rely on taxes. With time bad leaders will be replaced with leaders with vision and our people will improve.

Finally, in the UAE, Dubai has only 4 percent of oil reserves yet it is more developed than Abu Dhabi with 96 percent of oil reserves. The great nations are made by visionary leaders. Our old men are only concerned about maintaining their privileged lifestyles. They think there are smarter than us, more blessed by God than us. Let's bring them hell.

OHow would you describe a president that combined the ministries of works, power and steel into one. Is that one a serious minded person?
My doubts too on his capacity was raised then.
Buhari, despite being president just read about d superficial exploits of Fashola on nhewspapers and decided to heap on him 3 distinct ministries!
That appointment "weak me".
That remains a serious capacity deficit which pmb has gone on to manifest in many other areas during his presidency.

Lol, we have to try our best in whatever capacity.

As for your schooling, lets pray oil prices rise in the second half of the year. Goldman Sach's says prices should reach 55 dollars before the end of the year. Let's be hopeful because our leaders have no other plan but oil to get us out of this mess.

I convinced over 100 people in my locality to vote Buhari.
As an undergraduate, many people listened to me and reason with me.
On the election day, I was moving here and there encouraging people to go and vote.

Then they calling with promises sweeter than honey.

I have sat down to compare Buhari to Jonathan and APC to PDP, and my conclusion is this, I made a terrible mistake.

My dad told me, its not as it seemed. He said he would rather not vote than vote Buhari.

I told him to relax, its our time.
I assured him in one year, he will change his story.

Today, I am ashame to discuss politics with Dad.
He is a gentle man. and he does not mock me.

What is really better?
What has changed?

I have discovered the media houses are criminals.
They have the power to shape opinion and they use it against the people. They used against me.

Fulani has been invading our lands but nothing like what has happened within the 2 years if this devilish change.

The army is no where to be found.
They are rather shooting armless and harmless civilians of the shia and IPOB.

in 2019, I might end up not voting.

if Buhari can be such a fraud and catastrophic failure, I don't know if I can confidence in our so called leaders anymore. I feel personally embarrassed and I am finding it hard to forgive myself.

Henceforth, we shall seek for leaders who shall protect us.

And we are ready for alliance with people who are peaceful.

if we sleep in peace, we have the opportunity to prosper.

Correct.
Most Nigerians are intellectually docile.
Our comparative analytical skill is very crude.
Imagine people calling Aregbesola names because he is unable to pay full salary in a state that generates next next to nothing as IGR and relies on allocation that is highly dependent on oil prices?
Even if Aregberascal is not performing up to expectations, can Osun really pay 4 billion monthly as salaries and pensions when they earn just 150 million monthly?

Your education was worth it.
No person that truly supported Buhari should regret supporting him because d incumbent then was a monumental disaster and d others were clowns.
The Nigerian state based on long years of putting mediocres in positions of power gave us 2 options:
(1)To stick with a man intent on bankrupting the country, grinding it to a halt & within a few months ceding about a 1/3 of our landmass to BH,thus officially becoming a failed state,or
(2)A former military ruler with contestible credentials but with a firm &solid military background noted for his firmness. We felt that with his acclaimed integrity, many of his shortcomings and deficits cud be made up for and Nigeria d better by d calibre of similarly corrupt free and correspondingly competent people he wud surround himself with.
We never saw that the latter blif wud b d opposite & therefore just as GEJ failed because he was neither competent, nor averse to d demonic force of corruption & surrounded himself with modern day treasury rapists,Buhari has failed thus far, dramatically so,because his acclaimed integrity was just on d periphery & wen tested with people close to him, exposed him for what he truly his:a bigoted, clannish, not corrupt free, capacity deficit ruler.
The hands we were dealth with were poor and d terrible outcome is d nightmare we are all living witnesses to.

Let's bring them hell.

very brilliant piece.....

trillville:

Lol, we have to try our best in whatever capacity.

As for your schooling, lets pray oil prices rise in the second half of the year. Goldman Sach's says prices should reach 55 dollars before the end of the year. Let's be hopeful because our leaders have no other plan but oil to get us out of this mess.

.....and pls we should learn to refrain from referring to these scions of Lucifer as leaders. Call them monsters, vampires, idiots, morons or just anything but leaders please. They havnt d littlest craft in leadership....

No be only you. Even the works ministry on its own would've needed like 6 regional ministers on its own with the glaring collapse of our roads all over not to talk of the more deficient power ministry. I knew right from there this govt was not gonna be serious....

Correct.
Most Nigerians are intellectually docile.
Our comparative analytical skill is very crude.
Imagine people calling Aregbesola names because he is unable to pay full salary in a state that generates next next to nothing as IGR and relies on allocation that is highly dependent on oil prices?
Even if Aregberascal is not performing up to expectations, can Osun really pay 4 billion monthly as salaries and pensions when they earn just 150 million monthly?
i know right? they think paying salaries is a sign of good governance. instead of firing half of the government workers. too much government workers in nigeria. and it breeds laziness.

Bliv it or not Jonathan by now wud av totally collapsed this nation. He wud ever remain d disaster he was. What wud I tell my future generation if they ever get to know I supported a dunce like Jonathan.
I av concluded buhari is a failure because coming from a monumental disaster like GEJ,any other govt after that just had a little to do to be termed a success, but here we av a president doing many of d same things d fisherman was termed a disaster for.
I am not d type that wud therefore because I supported a buhari and destested a Jonathan now use different standards in grading their performances.
A failure is a failure and both av been thus far
Jonathan is far better than Buhari. Nothing is happening at all except blame game yet you're using that to get sympathy, sorry oh but deal with it because you were warned from the beginning. Next time you hear change ask which type?
