Mourinho and Ed woodward said Rooney requested to leave for Everton. Wayne is a legend and i feel United needed to give him what he wanted. I don't see anything like Mou pushing him out
thesicilian:
You don't push out a legend like this. At worst you give them less playing time with a coaching role. Mourinho is going to destroy Man Utd. By the time he's through with the club they'll be like Inter Milan. Which is fine by me, because the only club I hate more than Man Utd is Chelsea.

I'm sad to see this guy leaving my beloved Man United, he's a true legend, his choice of Everton does not augur well with me, it should have been elsewhere but not premiership. Hope he doesn't come back to hurt us.
Everton will be a strong contender this season. They have bought some very very good players and made some good business too. They have the cash to still get 3 more very good players. They will be in the top 4 by the end of this new season

Rooney can't afford to be a fringe player in any club and with lukaku and other new strikera coming in ,mou wont even think twice to dump him on the bench. Movingto everton gives him a good chance of playing more and if possible getting back into the national team. It has always been his dream to go back to everton

Pushed out? When Terry, Lampard, Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand, Raul Gonzalez and Xavi left their clubs to join other clubs, was it considered pushing out?
The handwriting was written all over the wall that Rooney wasn't in the plans of Mourinho. He was a great player for Man Utd no doubt.
But don't blame Mourinho for this. It was a long time coming.

Leave hating fess, let's work with ur statistics..

186 goals ÷ 13 years = 14 goals a season, that's pathetic for a striker who played upfront for so so many seasons.
Where is his golden boot.
Suarez, Anelka, Vanisterol, drogba, Kane, etc have all won the golden boot, They didn't spend 13 years to do so.

Wen he shows his golden boot, we will know.
Rooney did not play upfront for so many seasons. Rooney only played as a 9 for 2 seasons. The other seasons he played as a 10. Those seasons we had Van Nistelroy, Berbatov, Tevez, Van Persie, Saha, Zlatan, he played in the midfield.

He never asked to leave when Sir Alex was there or even the subsequent coaches. You don't ask for exit when you are happy at a club. Its the Mourinho effect. The same way Steven Gerrard, another club legend, was also stylishly pushed out of Liverpool by Rogers. At least thank God he's back to the club in a coaching role.

You are twice wrong!
First, Rooney did ask to leave during Fergusion's time. Not once but twice.
Second, Mourinho had nothing to do with his move to Everton. He was not getting game time as much as he wanted, and you can't blame Mou for it. Fact is Rooney peaked before his 30th birthday. Did you expect the coach to play him ahead of Zlatan in attack. In the middle Utd had Mkhi, Mata, Pogba and Herrera all better than him.
He did not want to take his place on the bench and be a bit part player . If that is what you call unhappiness can it be helped ?

Everton can confirm that Wayne Rooney has rejoined the Club from Manchester United on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

England’s all-time leading goalscorer, the 31-year-old boyhood Blue made 77 appearances for Everton and scored 17 goals between 2002 - when he made his Premier League debut as a 16-year-old - and 2004 when he departed for Old Trafford.

“Wayne has shown me that ambition that we need and that winning mentality – he knows how to win titles and I’m really happy he’s decided to come home,” said Everton manager Ronald Koeman.

“He loves Everton and he was desperate to come back. He is still only 31 and I don’t have any doubts about his qualities. It’s fantastic he’s here.”

“Ecstatic” Wayne Rooney declared winning silverware with his beloved Blues would be the “pinnacle” of his career after the forward sealed his emotional return to Everton Football Club.

The 31-year-old forward penned a two-year-deal with the Toffees, moving for an undisclosed fee from Manchester United, to come back to the club he has supported all his life and first joined as a nine-year-old, before rising through the Academy and becoming a first-team star from 2002-2004.

England’s all-time leading goalscorer admits putting on the Blue shirt again will be “an emotional day”.

And having enjoyed a trophy-laden 13-year career at Old Trafford – including winning the Champions League, Europa League, five Premier League titles, one FA Cup and one FIFA Club World Cup – Rooney believes helping the ambitious Blues to silverware would be extra special.

After becoming the Club’s sixth summer signing – following the arrivals of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, defender Michael Keane, midfielder Davy Klaassen and forwards Sandro Ramirez and Henry Onyekuru – an “excited” Rooney told Everton TV:

“(Winning trophies with Everton) would be the pinnacle. I really feel now the Club is moving in the right direction, bringing the right calibre of players in. I want to be part of it and hopefully part of a successful Everton team.

“It’s a great feeling to be back. I’m excited, I cannot wait to meet the lads, get on the training pitch and then get on the pitch to play. I’m ecstatic – I just cannot wait to get back playing.

“I’m excited, and I’m excited by the signings that the Club have made. This club is moving forward. This football club should be winning trophies and we’re taking huge steps to being involved and trying to win trophies.

“The first game back will be an emotional day for me and I’m looking forward to it. I’m not just coming back because it’s the team I support, the team I grew up playing for - I’m coming back because I feel the Club can move forward and be successful. I want to be part of it. There will be pressure on me to perform, but I’m ready to go. I believe I can help move this club forward and be more successful on the pitch.

“With the new stadium in the pipeline, it’s an exciting time to be an Everton player, to be an Everton fan. It’s on us players to make those times even more exciting by giving them good performances and try to help them be successful and bring trophies to the Club.”

In a 15-year career, Rooney has won the Champions League, Europa League, five Premier League titles, one FA Cup, three League Cups and one FIFA Club World Cup and scored 323 goals.

Which legend? Someone who pushed for a move away from the club twice in his prime?

John Terry is a true legend of Chelsea but he had the decency to step down into a league where he can be more useful. See more high profile examples:

Casillas out of Madrid
Gerrard out of Liverpool
Xavi out of Chelsea
Valdes out of Barca
Pirlo out of Milan
Cambiasso out of Inter
... the list goes on

No matter how big the player, their career must come to an end. Also, what makes you think Rooney would be happy with a bit part/part coaching role??

I'm sure Fergie currently is in tears seeing Rooney leaving this way

Which Fergusion? Is it the same Fergie that refused to play Rooney in his last match in charge of Man United. Fergie said he didn't play Rooney because he had asked to leave and that it was Moye's problem to sort out.

He's seen as a 'potential' by Koeman, hence the loan spell at Anderlecht. I was referring to players he signed that will get first team action.

Ten years ago, when kids of my age called Superman and Spiderman their superheroes, I treated this man as my Superhero. When people asked me whether my favorite player was Ronaldo or Messi, I used to proudly tell them- "Wayne Rooney" when no one dared saying that. And there were times when I had nightmares of this man leaving the club and leaving me tattered. Today though, that has come true. It will be strange to have Manchester United without the man who has been a fantastic servant to the club. I remember watching him as that teenager who brought a smile to the kid's face every week and his passion, drive and determination to never give up inspired me and will keep on inspiring me throughout my life. His never satiating hunger to give his all for the team used to be so satisfying that he was very often the best player on the pitch, despite being the smallest out there. Even today, if you happen to ask me about who my favorite player is, I can't pick out a single player apart from Wazza himself. Others may ooze flair and panache, but they never had the desire to cover blade of grass on the pitch to put the team's priorities before his own. So much so that even when he scored the record- breaking 251st goal, he didn't celebrate at all. Because the game at Stoke wasn't won. If that's not called commitment for the club, I can't imagine what is! People hated him for everything that he is, but there's no one better in silencing critics by coming up with a scintillating performance on the pitch. When people abused him off the pitch, he shut them up and left them gagged by performing on the pitch. When others came and left, he stood firm. After years of putting the club before his own priorities, it's time he finally puts his own ones before anything else. He still has two or three decent years left and while I won't sleep well because this terrific journey's coming to an end, it's time he departs and starts proving people wrong again- something Wayne Rooney's always been about and always will be. He'll be hated and will be laughed at by many, but the man's been through it all. He does his talking on the pitch. And fifty years on , when people will ask me about who my favorite player was, I will smile and proudly take this battler's name. The battler who brought a smile that kid's face. Can't really thank this man enough and I really do fall short of words to describe him and what he's achieved. I'll miss chanting your name every time you took to the pitch, but will continue to defend you when no one does. Thanks for making me fall in love with the game, Wayne Rooney. There will never be another you ever again. My Superman. Forever. "Remember the name, Wayne Rooney."

Nigerians, why?

Why do you have to persecute him because he is still playing PS2? This is why people do internet scam, money ritual, armed Robbery.

Because people like you persecute them.

What if he doesn't have money to buy PS4, you want him to steal?

That's why a pastor will bless anybody that brings money to church, even though it was gotten through hideous means.

If he cannot afford PS 4 then maybe he shouldn't be playing game..he should be out hustling so he can afford finer things..LOL don't mind me, I was just teasing the guy
