Lagos state

Population:- over 21 million

Violent crime rate:- 45,386 per 14,234,000 residents.

Lagos state tops the list of most dangerous state in Nigeria the Yoruba are the dominant ethnic group. There are more than 250 ethnic groups represented in Lagos, however, including the Hausa, Igbo, and Fulani. Small minorities of American, British, East Indian, Chinese, white Zimbabwean, Greek, Syrian, Lebanese and Japanese are also present in the city.
Thanks to a stubborn problem mostly related to kidnapping, murder, rape, robbery and assault Analysing experience of crime by regions in Nigeria,
Lagos State has the highest percentage share of total cases reported with 36.08% and 45,385 cases recorded.

Lagos state still ranked 1st among the states for armed robbery and kidnapping.

ABUJA

Population:- over 3 million per 750,000 residents

Violent crime rate :- 13,181 reported case


Delta state

Population:- 4 million

Violent crime rate :- 7867

Its hard to control a state with high rate of poverty , the high rate of population of poor resident and unemployment keep it among the most dangerous state in Nigeria .the exacerbating and longstanding problems of delta state is cultsm and arm robbery.


Kano

Population :- 9 million

Violence crime rate :- 4917 reported case

Kano state is the second largest industrial center after Lagos State in Nigeria and its mostly populated by hausas
Kano state’s position as ideal drug transit point helps keep it high on the list of the most dangerous state in Nigeria.
On December 6 2014 the NDLEA destroyed more than 10 metric tonnes of drugs, including cannabis, cocaine and methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of some $1.4 million (1.02 million euros).


Oyo state

Population :- 5million

Violence crime rate :- 3443 reported case

Oyo state mainly inhabited by yorubas

Its difficult for a state to control crime when its citizens are illiterates and poor
Oyo state is still plagued with kidnapping , murders , forcible rape and ranks in the top 5 dangerous states in nigeria for all violent crime and a state full of ritualist den.

Edo state is not that bad after all seems Edo state is more God fearing compared to most States in Nigeria as a whole

I actually lived there a few years ago. I didn't really feel threatened at any time.
