I am not sure what the point is of driving these antiquated APC's through the streets of PH, 1970's BTR60's that is not a show of force particularly if you know the state of the armour it carries. From the engine sound it seems the upgraded BTR60PB with diesel engines still over 40 years old though.

Add to that the current value almost scrap metal, but if refurbished around $5k they are usually donated by current and former eastern block countries as a good will gesture to gain kudos from poor 3rd world countries.

Our army must probably assume extreme ignorance on the part of the public hence this antiquated parade as a show of force.

in saner climes you don't even see the military on the street except on special occasion
