Yesterday i saw a CV which was really circulating online. reading through it i was amazed and at the same time worried for the owner of the cv.
while he has a host of job experiences and including his university degree, his skills section was almost empty.
Imagine under his skill section, the good skills there where his proficiency in the use of basic Microsoft office tools which is normally Microsoft word, excel and power point. Truth be told out of 100% of the youths searching for jobs out there. 99% of them have this basic skills on their cv. which means that computer proficiency is now over rated by youths seeking employment. the digital age is here and it offers loads of opportunities. Employers are no longer after, Microsoft office site skills or university degree holders only, they are looking for something more. looking of people who have realized the changes in the business world and have adapted to it. your CV should not just contain WHAT IS ON EVERY ONE ELSE CV. learn a skill that goes with the demand of the digital world and make yourself ready for employers.

work experience matters but the kind of experience or the work also matters. we all know that when we put teaching as a work experience we do not expect it to be considered except when appying for a teaching job as almost every graduate as this as their job experience too. so the kind of job experience matters.

I agree, but the way you said the guy's CV was packed with experience with no skills, skills are also gained from experience, unless the experience are not within the relevant field, but it's okay I just meant to be a little humourous.
