RoyalPriesthuud: ""Most have admnistrative HQs in Lagos and not production factories.'''' unitary government n the fraud that has gone on for years has made Nigerians not to know how things work. Wen the SS have full control of their resources, they simply need a state law that will outlaw all oil firms from having a HQ away from their region. It's very simple, Shell u can only mine crude oil from Akwaibom if ur HQ is in Akwaibom, if u can't then AGIP who are willing will take ur place. Lagos is the only commercial city in Nigeria because the nation is a fraud, on a level playing groung, Many powerful commercial cities will rise in the SE n SS, it won't be difficult. The whole of SE n SS are always headed to Lagos wen they want to travel because all the embassies n international airports was intentionally kept in Lagos n abuja, do u think it will remain like that You are yet to understand to what extent other regions are cheated in Nigeria, I just mentioned a few. With as little as only calabar n rivers state port open, imports going to most of middle belt, SE n SS and all it's taxations, import duties n stuff running into billions will leave Lagos immediately. Wen the time comes, u will know. 3 Likes |

I have followed this discussion from first page to last and I must say , this is the best saner and brilliant discussion on restructuring I have seen on nairaland ever. Most people are civil here .kudos op. I was having a discussion with my cousin about some topic and he kept saying are we going to import people from Mars .that the masses are the problem. Truth is the merit of restructuring far outweighs the demerits. Politicians are ready to kill to get there because the money just keeps coming. Nobody workd for anything. It just keeps coming.Every month the governors send the accountant general to go get the money. But with restructuring they will even be afraid to vie for election bcuz woe betide you wen other regions are paying their workers and all you can do as a governor is excuse. Restructuring will give room for technocrats. Quality leaders who like success. Serious competition. Imagin SW and SE that have little oil.if SW increases their minimum wage, you would look like a dunce, incompetent mofo if ur in charge of SE without increasing the workers wage too. Everybody is looking at abuja but with restructuring it brings the focus closer. Tax regime will be so stiff in all regions and that will force citizens to be more critical about the government. Everybody will become interested with what you do with his tax bcuz right now we all feel what they looting is free oil money. 3 Likes |

sapele914:Nothing wrong with the constitution? Isn't the clamor for restructuring today because of a failed system of government? If you go check history you will see that Nigerians were okay with the groundnut pyramids, palm oil etc. The naira was greater than the dollar. Because of a system were the regions were giving the federal government 50% each and the government will in turn share 20% of that percentage to the regions and make do with 30%. But ever since the military came in and forced a unitary system of waste and consumption, and the civilian regime adopted it in the 1999 constitution where has it taken us to? 2 Likes |

PrecisionFx:I understand your angle perfectly, you seem not to understand mine. In any case though, it's a good thing. Businesses will have a range of options to choose from, governments will have 'options' too, and talents will work in places that interests them. What I care for is wealth creation that lifts the lifestyle of the overall populace, not whether Shell sits in Lagos or PH, or if Total mines in Uyo or Yola. NB: I still insist Lagos position as the biggest commercial hub isn't going away anytime soon. If you move your firm from New York to Texas because of tax or because you're Texan, it doesn't kill New York. And the advantages of Sillicon Valley can't be derived in New York. Let's have 20 big commercial cities, it only translates more wealth. The greatness of US is sprinkled in New York, DC, Chicago, Sillicon Valley, etc. 2 Likes |

michaelandre:You're right. And that's why I said 'some'. And truly 'some' will move. Lagos sits in the same category as New York, Tokyo or London. So you're right. |
Re: 10 Positive Things That Would Quickly Happen If Nigeria Restructures... by Nobody: 10:20pm On Jul 13, 2017 |
RoyalPriesthuud: New York was not built fraudulently like Lagos state. New yorkers worked n developed on their own so whatever stands there will last for ever, it's their sweat. Lagos was built on the back of cheating out other states n regions. They are nor the same. once Nigeria is restructured, new commercial cities will spring up in a few years and we know who owns commerce in Nigeria. 2 Likes |

Everyone in NW is Hausa/Fulani Everyone in SW is Yoruba The bolded just further proved the assertion that you Igbos cannot stand alone. Must you be lumped together with another tribe ? Don't you claim to be majority? Why are you then begging for "minority" validation and inclusion into Biafra? Noccerino: 1 Like |

Amberon11:I asked u if everyone in NW is Hausa and you respond by saying Hausa/fulani, mind you we have Egun and even Ijaw in ur SW. If u agree with Hausa/fulani, then why can't you agree with Igbo/Erik Can you now see your hypocrisy? |
Re: 10 Positive Things That Would Quickly Happen If Nigeria Restructures... by Amberon11: 10:02am On Jul 14, 2017 |
Hausa-Fulani are regarded as one and the same just like Urhobo-isoko. You cannot separate both. Ijaws are the only other tribe in the SW and you don't see Yoruba's forcing themselves on the ijaws. In fact, if ijaws want to leave SW today, the Yoruba's will care less. I repeat, stop seeking validation from other tribes. You make it seem like y'all cannot stand alone. Remember that the minority tribes who you want to annex into the eastern region were the ones who agitated for their own region in other to be separated from you because of Igbo domination. 0b100100111: The industry in Lagos is not indigenous to Lagos and the SW. So the city is open to despoilation. Desperate wishes can't change it. Detriot was the Auto industry in US but is now an abandoned city after the jobs went abroad. A cautionary tale. |
