Methinks you're confusing SENIOR partnership with ordinary partnership (Junior). They aren't the same oo. The former wields considerable power in a firm, a member of the board, and can even be a managing partner, while the later has a stake at the firm but not important enough to make decisions that would impact on it's general welfare, and most of all, defer to the senior partners.

So bottom line, it's possible for a secretary to become a junior partner of a law firm, but Senior partnership is way out of reach... unless it's DC.

I haven't watched the season 7 of suits, but if Donna was made a senior partner, it's probably because they wanted to move towards an entirely different direction.
We're already bored with stunts Harvey and Mike pull all the time.
We need something new.
A senior partner could be a silent partner. She may not even take part in decision making or day to day running of the firm.
Maybe just a figure head. But what do I know?
I haven't even watched it.

I tell you. Even for a work of fiction that move seemed so fictional. There was no logic to it. No sense. Just a desperate attempt to use shock value in trying to win back the already waning attention span of viewers.
That's the last Suits would be seeing of me anyway. I am so done with the show.
They were badly burnt by the flames of mediocrity in Season 6, and I watched this new season as a way of giving the Phoenix the benefit of the doubt, to see whether it would confound expectations by rising from the ashes. Unfortunately, the Phoenix did not rise. In fact, in its attempt to rise, it died painfully again.

They should have left the stage when the cheers were at their loudest i.e. after Season 3. But now they've succeeded in a making a horlicks out of everything.

It's almost like there's a scarcity of quality TV shows out there.

Haven't seen this new season yet, but Donna making senior partner?? They could have done better.

From last season, the storyline that involved Benjamin - the tech guy building an electronic version of "Donna" really suggested to me that the writers were obviously worn out and are out of ideas.

Would have preferred that they stopped at season 5 where Mike was arrested.

They (Suits) began losing traction when they downplayed the humor and tried dabbling in more serious themes. The upbeat pace, the witty rebuttals and surrebuttals, the well-timed movie references, Mike's photographic memory, and Louis' hilarious histrionics were the lifeblood of the show. The moment the scriptwriters began trimming them down, the show ultimately began to suffer.

Really? House of Cards? I never took a liking for that show no matter how hard I tried. Those scenes where that old man (Frank Underwood) was banging that journalist were just as disgusting as they were pointless.

Some people will vex very well tomorrow...

2) the major power isn't in the white house, for them to own it all they hav to hold oda key sectors also. That was where Francis wanted to work. I hate that woman who is offering Francis d job. Taught she was going to b secretary of state.
