WOAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS WAS THE BOMB!!!!!

First Bank Nigeria rocks! HCP rocks as well! I have human resources experience but this is by far the height of competence testing and it was done in the utmost professional way you can find anywhere in the world!

I just arrived my hotel room now, let me freshen up and eat and tell about my activities concerning details of the assessment.

Like seriously I would be in First Bank training school by Gods grace, those people even have a swimming pool around First bank academy hostel area, can you imagine this high level of work-leisure balance? I can't miss this o! grin After a hot day of lectures and training I'd just dive in the pool and unwind, basking in the ambience of the splendour of the water, I can't wait o! grin

Hi everyone.

The assessment was quite rigorous yesterday and quite professional.

There were 5 major exercises done yday.
1. Group Discussion
2.Slide preparation/ Oral presentation
3. Logical and Numerical reasoning
4. Competency-based interview
5. Written essay.

The written essay(20mins),slide preparation (20mins),oral presentation(10mins) and group discussion(20mins) go hand in hand cuz it will border arnd same topic.
You'd be presenting on whatever topic given to you as a group. you'd also be writing an essay on the topic.
Our topic was abt recession and how to find solutions

The Logical and numerical reasoning also took 20 mins each. Basic stuffs y'all shud know so dnt fret.

we also had ds career inventory form to fill.

Although, we started fully arnd 3pm we left arnd 7:40pm.

All in all, I was really impressed with FBN's level of professionalism.

I wish those who are yet to go all the best.

Morning,
Lemme just add this; one thing you need most is confidence. Try not to stutter and please be audible.
Also never say anything you can't defend especially during presentation and interview. And the almighty question "tell us about yourself" is your way to paradise or hell. please manage it well.

Note: it's more of smartness test (ma opinion).

For those who have actually made a call to HCP, please what was their response for keeping us late for our invite. Called last week, I dont want it to seem my call is getting rampant and the lady that picks will just say "you are calling again!".

Please what is HCP saying about us waiting for invite?

Most of what people who had their AC on 15th Saturday July said are all true and I don't really see much need to add, but if there is anything you wanna ask me then please do and I'd explain with all details necessary. Just quote me and ask anything you need clarifications on and I would duly attend to your request.

Also very important, my same source from First bank(a management staff) who told me about the inclusion of First bank service executives into the AC for those hoping to be converted to core staff also gave me some revealing information yesterday. He said the final list of those who would be called for medicals/documentation would also have to do with zoning and not just only on performance from the AC. I will explain further.

He said First bank won't only employ people from a particular geo-political zone because that won't be good for business, you need people from all over the federation and also need to have some significant number of people from a particular region being willing to go work in that region after training school, it would be easier for someone from Borno to agree to be posted to Borno branch after training school than it would be for a Lagosian to accept such posting and perform at his/her best in such an environment. Apart from language fluency, environmental awareness and familiarity would make the Borno candidate have more motivation to perform at his/her best there as opposed to a Lagosian.

Take for instance the cut off mark from AC to be qualified for training school is 70% assessment rating, and 90% of people who scored this percentage are from the South South zone, don't take it that First bank would invite all those South South geo-political zone candidates for training school because they represent 90% of candidates who passed AC stage, they would take just the top scoring candidates from that zone and also take other zones to make it even, so someone who scored 79% in AC might be dropped because of his/zone and someone who scored 70% would be selected because of his/zone. He even said sometimes a zone with low scoring candidates would have its benchmark reduced to fit in candidates from the zone. But of course, the percentage of selected candidates would be higher for zones with higher candidates as compared to other zones with lesser candidates.

So South West might take like 30% selection, South South 15%, South East 20%, North Central 13%, North West 17%, and North East 5%.

In a nutshell, to be safe, make sure you score high in your zone as regards your assessment centre rating, and of course zones with high level of competition would have more difficulty because of the competition, so he said just passing the cut off mark required for AC is not a guarantee for training school.

Thank God i have another job now. Entering this FBN training school appears harder and uncertain by everyday that passes. New twists and turns. A lot of variables that might be out of someone's control are now involved.

I wish everyone good luck anyways.
