ONITSHA —The Nigerian Air Force, yesterday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU with Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company, IVM, Nnewi, Anambra state for research and production of spare parts for its fighter jets.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, told newsmen in Nnewi, Anambra that the collaboration between the company and the Air Force had kept its jet fleet running for months now.
Abubakar, who was represented by the Chief of Policy and Planning, Air Vice-Marshal James Gbum, said the MoU would further solidify the collaboration, improve local content and engineering as well as save the country a lot of foreign exchange used in importing the expensive parts.
He said: “Our war efforts will be in vain if we don’t do something to ensure we get spare parts because some of our fighter aircrafts that have formed the back-bone of our struggle against Boko Haram, were once down due to lack of spare parts and mainly the break assemblies of these aircrafts.
“The Air Chief immediately ordered our research and development cell in Kaji to start to research into this break assembly overhaul. They went ahead and carried out the research. However, the first proto-type they brought couldn’t pass the test.
“The Nigerian Air Force later discovered that Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company at Nnewi, Anambra State is very capable of collaborating with the Nigerian Air Force to achieve the required standards of overhauling our break assemblies.”

Nigeria’s first indigenous and largest automobile manufacturer and West Africa’s largest plastic-processing manufacturer, Innoson Group, is partnering a consortium of Chinese investors to invest $1 billion into Nigeria’s information and communication technology (ICT) sector.
Today in Abuja, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo received the consortium of Chinese investors led by Liu Baoju, a deputy minister of the communist party of China in Shandong Province, who is equally the chairman of the world’s biggest TV operators, the Shandong Broadcasting Group.
ThisDay reports that the investment plan includes a $400 million investment in Nigeria’s Digital Switch Over (DSO) project by 2017 and an additional $600 million to cover other important sectors of the economy.
The $400 million is split thus: $300 million of financial foreign investment credit facility for the local production and supply of five to eight million Set-Top Boxes to support the governments DSO project being handled by the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission. And $100 million of financial foreign investment to establish the latest technology and biggest Direct-To-Home (DTH) Digital BING Television Station across all states of Nigeria.
Negotiations for a follow-up investment of $600 billion is currently underway, and almost concluded with strategic Chinese partners to cover the instalments of Smart City (CCTV camera) all over Nigeria, Cloud Computing Total Solution on Taxation with IT applications for institutions like the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and other taxation agencies to promote a seamless and stress-free tax collection mechanism; and an E-Education IT Solutions with data centres for all Federal Universities and Polytechnics in the country.
According to Cornel Osigwe, the Public Relations manager and Media Assistant of Innoson Group, the investment would assist Nigeria in becoming the manufacturing hub for Set-Top-Box in Africa with the attendant benefit of earning foreign exchange through exports from Innoson Manufacturing Complex.
In addition, the BING TV Project will engage the Nigerian Communication Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) situated at the Obasanjo Space Centre in Abuja with its numerous benefits of saving foreign exchange by buying into Nigeria available goods and services, instead of engaging foreign satellite and transponders as is the norm in the country.

Production of wine started in an improvised factory in Ibadan, Oyo State, using mainly small-scale equipment and utilizing capital provided from the limited resources of the proprietor. The company was the first to produce wine in commercial quantities in Nigeria. Following the successful introduction of its products to the Nigerian market and the enthusiastic reception given to its products, the need to expand its production capacity was soon recognized.

Between 1979 and 1985, the company obtained funding for expansion and the construction of a purpose-built factory was completed at Isonyin, near Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. Operations at the new factory commenced in May 1985 and, with ready acceptance of the company's brands in the marketplace coupled with prudent management of funds, it was possible for the company to pay back its loans ahead of schedule. Between 1985 and 2004, the Deebee range of products continued to grow, utilizing the technical know-how of the Founder; it was thus that some of the brands (e.g. Popapine, Deebee Black Label ) became house-hold names in the Nigerian marketplace.

All Deebee products are NAFDAC registered.

why not come to reality of life instead of thinking this way. do you think if the sensationalize is achieved. Innoson will ever get such contract, more so what make you think Elezade motors can not make similar thing, Federal government only consider Innoson just to support the ingenious company.

Deebee Company Limited was incorporated in June 1977 with the initial purpose of commercially exploiting the research results of Dr D B A Ogutuga, Ph.D. (Cantab), the Founder and Executive Chairman, on the process for the manufacture of wine from kolanuts. These research findings were as a result of Dr Ogutuga's doctoral research work at the University of Cambridge, UK leading up to his Ph.D. degree in 1969. The results were also later patented in Lagos and London in 1978.

Production of wine started in an improvised factory in Ibadan, Oyo State, using mainly small-scale equipment and utilizing capital provided from the limited resources of the proprietor. The company was the first to produce wine in commercial quantities in Nigeria. Following the successful introduction of its products to the Nigerian market and the enthusiastic reception given to its products, the need to expand its production capacity was soon recognized.

Between 1979 and 1985, the company obtained funding for expansion and the construction of a purpose-built factory was completed at Isonyin, near Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. Operations at the new factory commenced in May 1985 and, with ready acceptance of the company's brands in the marketplace coupled with prudent management of funds, it was possible for the company to pay back its loans ahead of schedule. Between 1985 and 2004, the Deebee range of products continued to grow, utilizing the technical know-how of the Founder; it was thus that some of the brands (e.g. Popapine, Deebee Black Label ) became house-hold names in the Nigerian marketplace.

All Deebee products are NAFDAC registered.
