so i was taken to the labour room and given pitocin.I was asked to lie on my left see pain ewo.I was like that till 4hour later I was checked again and was 6cm.I was just praying the doc came back 4hours later and I was still 6cm. he said I am not progressing despite giving me two pitocin drip. he said he would have to remove the baby through cs before the baby gets distressed. meanwhile the baby was no longer cephalic he had turned so it was difficult for him to engage into the birth canal.he called his colleague who came and broke my water. then the pain just intensified. I almost cried.after an hour, the doctor came and said I have to be wheeled to the theatre to save me and my baby.I just stood up and started following him to the theatre.I was giving spinal kiniko(dunno how to spell it) then they tore me and I heard my baby cry immediately.I was just thanking God I couldn't belive it.I just turned my head to watch my baby cleaned while the sewed me up.he was taken to my husband outside and I was carried out of the theatre . baby was given Nan.I was shivering cos of the injections(so they said)./baby weighed 4kg. thank God for his mercies. cappo Phlakkeys wehdone ma.

Hallo mommas! Trust that the day went well? I have a couple of questions. When washing New born clothes which is preferable? Hand wash or machine wash? And wat kind of detergent can one use for either that is baby skin friendly? I mean clothes just bought from the market; not been worn by baby yet?

Also could you please recommend an affordable breast pump I can buy? Is the manual an option at all?

What milk is advIsable to buy esp before bosom starts to flow rather than glucose?

discharge in trickles,are you sure that's not your water breaking gradually? When's your next ANC so you can tell your doctor and be checked? You've not come this far to take chances o! Abeg.

its been a while! A lot of pages to catch up..Sleep allowed me to finally reach the current page..Other days I sleep of while trying to read a page..
Motherhood is really an interesting hood...I have not had any decent sleep since los arrival, when lo's awake am awake, when lo's sleeping i rush to fix one or two things when am through about to take some rest and possibly sleep that's when lo is waking up... Pre delivery, i used to have almost the whole day to my self surfing and surfing the net but now I only get to go through my phone at night when we've retired for bed and lo will be sleeping as well...Its not easy I most confess but glory be to God to be part of this experience..

Big congrat to all the maamas that put to bed..May God bless your los..

I came across a maama asking for mice solution..if you are not afraid of cat then get one or two and keep as pet..I bet you those mice will vacate in no distance time..

No harm in getting checked out! Some women leak water gradually whilst some have theirs come out in a gush and others gets their water sac manually ruptured.

No one sure way for every pregnancy! Goodluck.

What's your location? You can locate a general Hospital around you and register there.

You shoukd however ask you Hospital why they don't do classes to be sure it's not you going late and missing the class! Cos my hospital take classes first before routine checks.

You Hospital will give you a list when you near your edd! Read up online with images on how to change diaper and all what not. Need more clarification please feel free to ask here.

try register in a general hospital or a primary health centre around u; the experienced matrons there give adequate pre-natal lectures.u may still choose to deliver in ur choice clinic.

sis, are u sure u're nt leaking amniotic fluid with ur description of watery discharge coming in trickles? can u get urself checked out to avoid infections.

My Lochia was always ten days, not a day more. Some women stop bleeding as early as the 8th day while others go on for a full month.

remember everything can't be the same for everyone regarding pregnancy,better to be safe than sorry.

It sometimes takes a break for a day or two and comes back reddish! However lochia isn't always red coloured. Some whitish discharge do come when it's tapering off.

Or you may just be among the lucky few whose lochia bids farewell soon.

For your tummy get girdle either one suitable for C's mom's or vd moms depends on your delivery method.

Machine wash. Lowest, not child care
Persil non bio and comfort fabric conditioner. Hand rinse so many times.

Dunno about affordable breast pump but I think I prefer manual pumps, I get creeped out with the thought of plugging my boobs with Nigerian electricity

sometimes its lyk dat. I was releasing water on saturday,a day b4 i gave birth. I thot i was urinating on myself or didnt finish urinating, nt knowin its was my fluid without contraction. Pls let d doc check u.

Detergents safe enough for cloth diapers (which cover the most tender part of skin) are safe for clothes. Baby care setting on washing machines are pretty rough. Also, most LG machines in Nigeria, I'm not crazy about their quality.

No to any type of Fabric Softener, for reasons listed below:

Paed Dermatologists don't like them and even countries that manufactured them don't recommend them anymore for babies. It's a pain to rinse out and can irritate baby skin and the fragrance in some also causes issues to baby.

Brands that are good are Medela, Spectra, Evenflo. However, I don't see those brands often in Nigeria so perhaps I will do a poll for the Mums here to help me answer. HtH

Thanks mam. its suppose to be my day but here I am with zero labour sign. I never thought this would happen to me ( Guess i felt am too special). I dnt know if to go for a schedule cs or wait. I just dont want to wait til labour starts on it own and stil end up with emergency cs. It wil be too disheartening, especially when I know I could have saved myself the stress of labour and time. I was also told my baby is big already. Am so confused right now. He weight 3.11kg at 36 weeks scan. I dont know his weight now but am currently on 39 weeks.

pls mamas can I take mix-mag for my heart burn am not up to 3 months...is it safe? pls answer

Ayam not understanding why you are even thinking of emergency CS, your due date was +-2 weeks, most ftms go past their due dates, so calm down and do your countdown.
