ZOO! Nigerians are too short sighted to understand what is really going on, the country is steadily falling apart and the people are gradually facing each other. This is always the mid point before complete breakdown of law and order that will result in chaos and anarchy. That was exactly what happened in Somalia that led to president Siad Bareh losing authority while the country fell into the hands of different warlords. It is already happening in Nigeria, Nnamdi Kanu now has more authority and influence than the governors or even FG, in the SS, militants run things. Boko haram and Fulani terrorists are controlling most parts of the North. Things are more likely to get much worse than better, considering the biting hunger and frustration in Nigeria without any hope in sight of reversing the deteriorating situation! There was a country indeed!
I liked your post because within you,you wished things never gone this way. I will like you to stop calling nigeria zoo. The fact is nigeria is still your country, your father, your mother, you and your siblings are Nigerian for now. Animals live in the zoo.

No obviously I am not, my only interaction is with the OND pple and ATM outside
Ok no prob. The processes and procedures and controls in place makes it pretty tough for any one person to conscript the bank's cash fraudulently without it being easily traced back to the individual.

[quote author=ultron12345 post=58617329]This story is not complete, a police officer will not just shoot someone for parking indiscriminately, I think when the officer was telling the driver to park well, the driver took it as an insult and called his fellow drivers and agberos and attempted to fight (maybe even kill) the officer who then shot the driver in an act of self defense .....until we here from the bank or police officers side, this story is just a lie.

over a misunderstanding with a mobile Police officer.
I dunno about you, but I wouldn't use the word misunderstanding to describe the fact that somebody got shot and killed by police.

I dont understand why the average Nigerian policeman will shoot at an u anarmed individual, moreso a civilian.
It's always their default mode when provoked.
At least in d US and d Western world, civilian deaths occur when d officer mistakenly feels d individual was reaching for a weapon.
But here,u are driving u don't stop, they shoot to kill u,not even disable your vehicle.
-They tell you not to move, you accidentally blink, they pull the trigger.
-Low betide you if you dare attempt to run away when they come for arrest, your 6ft below is guaranteed!
There is clearly a lack of training on weapons handling and other police procedures.
God help Nigerians when the expected 100,000 additional policemen and women now enter the force because they would be even more poorly trained, drunk, quick to temper and totally uncontrolled weapons of murder unleashed on the society.
in as much as u have raised valid points I think I probably understood why the policeman shot at first. in these times of insecurity an coupled with the fact that in February Zenith Bank was attacked in commando style with the lose of a police officer, a tanker driver parkin in front of of bank would easily raise suspicion. Infact if I see a tanker packed in front of a bank I'd feel it's loaded with armed robbers.

No, you can't. However the vault is fire proof so should ordinarily be ok. The cash pieces that are already out will be with the clerks/tellers so no advantage to managers.

In times of security did they not shoot into crowded commercial vehicles?

Insurance does not cover mob action, property is immaterial here. The policeman must be brought to justice.

Have we bothered to ask why a driver would park a vehicle in front of bank premises during work hours knowing fully well the present security condition in the country?? What if it was an intended bank robbery operation where robbers have no mercy on anybody whether on uniform or not. I dont support idiosyncrasy. The driver of that vehicle knows the parking rules in the premises of financial institutions. He only wanted to taste death. Too bad.!!

Sterling Bank Plc was originally formed from a merger of Nal Merchant Bank, Magnum Trust Bank, NBM Bank, Indo-Nigeria Merchant Bank and Trust Bank of Africa durin the bank consolidation era between 2004 and 2006.

It was already an established bank before ETB joined the fray therefore Adenuga does not hold majority stake there!

Get your facts right. Sterling is not owned by Adenuga. They completely acquired ETB in 2011.

And if those that burnt the building think they have done damage to the bank, they are wrong, the insurance company will repair that building as soon as possible without charging the bank a dine
What I heard was... The police normally comes to collect daily N1000 from the drivers every morning...... But the driver refused to give him that day...... Too bad...po..po..lice

Loool...not that easy still. Plus the financial safety of the job is better than a one-off N100k. More so, some of us still have integrity in this country and not all Nigerians are thieves as our politicians and cha-che boys will want to make you believe.
