TROOPS INTERCEPT SUICIDE BOMBER AT DALA

Troops of 251 Battalion, 7 Division Nigerian Army on Operation LAFIYA DOLE deployed at Dala village on Tuesday 18th July 2017 at about 10.00pm intercepted a suspected suicide bomber who attempted to cross through their forward defences.

Upon several challenges and warning shots the suspect refused to halt. The suspect who still continued to approach towards the troops location was immediately neutralized.

The Borno State Emergency Management Agency and the International Committee of the Red Cross have since been contacted to evacuate the suspect remains.

It will be recalled that three days ago, on Sunday 16th July 2017, our troops deployed at Mammanti, also averted another catastrophe when they intercepted and neutralized 2 female Boko Haram terrorists suicide bombers who tried to infiltrate and attack the village through troops parapet at about 10.15pm.

Similarly, the troops of 251 Battalion also intercepted another female Boko Haram terrorists suicide bomber on Monday 17th July 2017 at about 1.49am between Cimari and No Man’s Land.

These great efforts of the troops helped to save lives and valuable property. The public is please requested to continue to volunteer information to the military and other security agencies to help preempt suicide bombings and other atrocities by the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists.

TROOPS INTERCEPT 30 FLEEING BOKO HARAM TERRORISTS FAMILIES IN GONIRI

Yesterday, Tuesday 18th July 2017, troops of 120 Task Force Battalion, 27 Task Force Brigade at about 10.25am intercepted 30 fleeing suspected escaping Boko Haram terrorists at Goniri, Gujba LGA, Yobe State.

The suspects comprise of 8 women and 22 children. On preliminary interrogation, the suspected claimed to have escaped from Boko Haram terrorists’ custody at Kafa and Abagajiri villages in Damboa LGA of Borno state.

Similarly, same day at about 2.30pm the troops also intercepted 7 women and children escaping from Boko Haram terrorists at Kamuya, Yobe State. They claimed that they escaped from Boko Haram terrorists’ hideout at Goropcha village, Damboa LGA of Borno State. Both sets of escapees are currently being screened and profiled by the Brigade.

TROOPS FIX POT HOLES, CLEARS BUSHES, FACILITATES UNHINDERED MOVEMENT

Troops of formations under 7 Division in Operation LAFIYA DOLE are not resting on their oars as they engage in massive filling of pot holes and extensive clearing of vegetation to ensure security of persons, goods and services along various routes within the Division Area of Responsibility in Borno State.

Troops of 21 Brigade intensified efforts on Wednesday 19 July 2017 to fill bad portions along Road Bule Yobe to Darajamel. The formation's effort is in line with the Division's overall intention of denying the Boko Haram Terrorists freedom of action and facilitate unhindered movement along the routes.

The gesture is to ensure safety of the road for troops, civilian vehicles and humanitarian relief trucks. Already, troops of 21 Brigade had earlier laboured vigorously and successfully filled several other pot holes with concrete along Road Banki Junction through Frigi up to Pulka and Gwoza.

Simlarly, troops of 192 Battalion of 7 Division Garrison in conjunction with Armed Forces Strike Force Battalion and locals in Delwa carried out road shoulders clearance of vegetation along Road Delwa/Bulabulin.

In another development, troops of 103 Battalion has fixed pot holes and is engaged in shoulders clearance of vegetation along Road Kunduga to Bama axis.

The Division has continued to support the formations with logistics and others necessary assistance to favourably accomplish the tasks.
