1. They go to work early but come to church late.



2. They beg their boss when they err but threaten to leave church whenever there is a misunderstanding.



3. They work hard to be promoted at work but treat the work of God with levity.



4. They pay all their dues in the workplace but refuse to pay tithe in the church.



5. They buy costly things for their boss to get favour but can't even buy airtime for their pastor.



6. When they are not going to be in the office, they take permission ahead from their superior; but expect pastor and elders to pay them visits when they miss church without notice.



7. They fear and respect their boss than their pastor and even sometimes more than God.



8. When they are sick they manage to go to work but they cannot manage to come to the church.



9. They take official query serious but handle divine rebuke with disdain.



10. They tolerate their colleagues in the workplace but cannot tolerate the brethren.



11. They turn off their phones at workplace, but use calls to distract other worshippers in Church.



12. They can work overtime in the office but get offended at the pastor if he's not closing at the stipulated time.

The people that could be tagged Pharisees in church are the very religious ones who do eye service but their ways are not that pure.

@Op..I doubt you really understand who a Pharisee is.

Those signs you highlighted are for people who are just lukewarm (and nonchalant).
A Pharisee is meant to be hypocritical.
He tells people to do what he won't do.
He does religious services/activities as showoffs.
He does good and righteous acts in public for people to commend him, but does the opposite in secret etc.

Okay. In my opinion, a Pharisee is recognizable by these kinds of traits:

1. He will neglect a beggar at the church gate, but put 5k for offertory.

2. He will attend all church meetings, but never make time to visit his sick uncle at the hospital.

3. He will quarrel with everyone on his way to church, and then bow in piety to the priest.

4. He will never invite his hungry friends to lunch, but will send bags of rice to his pastor every month.

5. He will ostracize a prostitute, but condone the weakness in his pastor when he's discovered to be guilty of adultery.

6. He will lynch a boy in the street for stealing, and then take a shower and go for evening service.

7. He will collect kick-backs from contractors on inflated projects, and then do thanksgiving in church for the position that God has elevated him to.

8. He will refuse to give an acquaintance a lift, because his big bible is resting majestically on the passenger seat.

9. He will give his church members preferential treatment at his office.

10. He will not pay his nephew's school fees, but take on the renovation of the church.

11. He will come late to work, ignore the already waiting customers, and proceed with a thirty-minute long morning devotion before responding to them.

12. In church, he sits in the line of sight of the pastor. He makes eye-contact, so that he is seen. And afterwards, he still goes to greet the pastor, until he is showered with commendations for his conscientiousness.

Do you know what being a Pharisee even means?

A Pharisee will be the earliest to church, pay tithes on the regular and boast about his accomplishments in the church.

They will be in all the church groups, they will be the most prayerful and appoint themselves as judges to other members who do not act like them.

In their minds, they are closer to God than any other person in the church.

In short, they are pretenders who act like they love God so much, when in their day to day lives, they don't exhibit the characteristics of a bornagain Christian.

They do not love their neighbours instead they fight with everyone. They are also gossips.

Some will steal and embezzle company funds to go and show off in church. They are also proud and disrespectful etc.

That is what being a Pharisee means.
