Eruditor:Sometimes I wonder if Raumdueter is not behind this moniker. You two can shift like shadows about a point. Unless you want to accept that United and Mourinho are better than City and Pep respectively, then Pep losing to Mou is another round of failure. Pep should be winning all his matches whether preseason or not. Remember he is the best manager in the world. |

Eruditor:Forget Spain and Germany, lets focus on the now. How much has Pep spent between arriving England and now? Had he won the title, may be we could turn a blind eye to his extravagance. |

Spy360:But...But...You said Pre-season games are fake. So how is losing a preseason game another round of failure? Only when it involves Pep! |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Eruditor: 4:25pm On Jul 23, 2017 |
Spy360:You said he inherited good squads in Barca and Bayern. Okay. He did not inherit a good squad with City so he wants to rebuild. You still complain. Pep should sell off all the bad legs in City and still win without replacing them. Or he should use the bad legs to win - then when he wins the same you would turn around and say anybody would have won with them. Sorry I can't be dancing palongo with you. Stick to one narrative and forget how much he has spent. Wait till he wins the league then say you have no respect for him because he signed expensive players. Say you only respect Ranieri and until Pep uses Aston Villa to win, you won't respect him. You are just about an inch from saying that. |

Eruditor:Your last sentence... Lol. I was simply reacting to your thoughts. If Pep is Yet, after spending so much last season he failed to win anything. How can I clap for him? |

Spy360:Any decent manager can do that. Yet rich clubs were not looking for any decent manager. They looked for Pep. And your fixation on spending this and that is misplaced. To rebuild, you would spend. It is science. United were rebuilding 04/05/06 what did they win then? |

personally I think gibbs, and wilshere should not be sold,we know our injury crisis will always come, welbeck should go abeg. Perez is even better |

I fear most fans don't know much about lemar, they just want the excitement of us signing new players for buying sake.. I don't or haven't watched him much either though, but are we sure he's what we need,an hungry player that can drive us forward, physically and mentally strong etc? I don't want another xhaka story,I hate to remember we lost the kante type of player we needed to Chelsea.. Also the OX is good and his style and features of play isn't common among the squad,we will regret losing him to those who can utilize him well... Gibbs... How many back up players are better than him, forget that we rot him in bench he's good, sell only if we won't miss him much. Wilshere...good but injury prone and not fit enough for the physicality of the league Welbeck...an all round player but doesn't score much,Wenger doesn't utilize him well,he was better under SAF, manU legends will say better about him Perez..too one footed, his right is just for running and standing, not physical, rugged NOr athletic.. But the most clinical and similar to podolski.. Also wengay doesn't how to get the best of him. |

johnjunior39: chuckdee4:For me Wilshere should stay but Gibbs can go. Lemar will replace the likes of Walcott. Welbeck will compete with Giroud and Lacazette. |

sod09:I say give Welbeck another season, I know his finishing is beyond horrible but at least the dude hustles. Wilshere should be sold to free up space in that midfield for a more capable/reliable player |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Roland17(m): 2:36pm On Jul 28, 2017 |
Sadly, the truth is Man City is responsible for this ridiculousness with Lemar's transfer fee. Considering city paid 52 million pounds for Mendy, an injured player who was not a top 4 performer for Monaco last season ultimately means Arsenal/ Wenger would have to cough more than 52 milion pounds to sign Lemar who ranked top 3 performer for Monaco. Don't get me wrong, Mendy is an impressive left back, however, the price is just irresponsible if you ask me. Its so bad that Conte had the nerve to question Poch's and Tottenham's premier league ambitions, just because they have decided not to delve into the madness. Conte or Guardiola had better win the EPL and make the finals of the champions league to justify this madness. If this trend continues, a market crash of some sort would become inevitable in the near future especially as new technologies find ways to broadcast matches. The math and economics are definitely not financially sustainable. If for some reason the EPL fails to expand, or the British economy suffers massive collapse like that of Italy, Spain 5 years ago then high spending EPL clubs are in big trouble. |
| Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: The Red & White Army: 2025/2026 EPL Champions! by Eruditor: 2:53pm On Jul 28, 2017 |
Man City was not the problem when United paid £89m for Paul Pogba. They were not the problem when United paid £90m for Lukaku. The market is the market and you have the windfall in TV revenue to blame for this. Lacazette was tagged at £55M only a season ago when Wenger inquired. This season he came cheaper so Wenger paid. Sure, some coaches are more desperate than others but they are not the one's carrying out the negotiations. This same Lemar because of whom Monaco just turned down €50m from Arsenal could depreciate in value this very season. Wenger and AFC should have offered this same money 2 months ago and Monaco would have accepted. It is clear they are playing hardball now but it would not last because the player in question wants to join Arsenal. To add to that, they know Wenger has more than met their valuation of the player. They just want to see if they can milk the process more. Who does not do that? Some say only Marcelo was more impressive than Mendy last season. Some others say Marcelo and Sandro. The question is, how much would you pay for Marcelo in today's market? |
