Of course, you can favorably compete as a Nigerian there. I have found a lot of success there as a Nigerian and many other Nigerians are killing it there too. If it's on Fiverr where I work, you use a VPN to change your IP so that you appear like you are in US or any country of your choice.
That way, you will be considered just like any other foreigner.

You can offer data entry services on Fiverr and still earn a good amount. Data entry involves just copying data from somewhere (given to you by the client) and pastng elsewhere. This reqyuires just basic computer skills.

If you are looking for the skill to learn under IT, you can look at video animation. It's hot.

Just hang on, I'm writing a full tutorial on how to go about it the right way so you can also make a killing on those platforms.
please, which of the computer skills do I need to render data entry services and how do I acquire them. Thank you..

Intending freelancers should not take all these online marketers looking for traffic for their site and people to patronize their ebooks serious.

You can learn a lot about freelancing on any of the links below. There are loads of free info there. It is not actually easy as the OP and his ilk say; but is quite rewarding if one has one or two skills and is serious about the business.

https://www.nairaland.com/2947212/exclusive-how-make-level-2
https://www.nairaland.com/3237273/how-make-regular-income-offering
https://www.nairaland.com/2594236/elance.com-upwork.com-other-freelancing-site
https://www.nairaland.com/1833989/how-make-1000-month-writing

God bless you bro. I was about doing this.

Listen people!!! Everything you need is right there on the above links, we all started freelancing from these threads above, even this OP too trust me.

You don't need to buy no ebook, just read the threads and ask questions, other freelancers would respond to your questions.

And note; you can't work 4 hours a day on fiverr and earn good money!! Fiverr is hardwork, dedication and patience especially for beginners. Good luck!

Donald Trump is a millionaire. But when he writes a book that shares his knowledge, he still sells it.....that is called multiple streams of income. If you have a knowledge, nothing stops you from selling it, else there shouldn't exist training centres anywhere. The idea is LEARN IT, DO IT, SELL IT. I took my time to write down everything I know and do to succeed on Fiverr, so at least I deserve a pay for it.

But you admitted to the fact that you knelt down and begged your friend to teach you and after seeing that you're serious he decided to tutor you and even did more by "helping you to open a Fivver account that month". That account generated $950 according to you.

Now your friend did that for you without charging you 5k, at least you didn't say he did. He didn't even bring that your "multiple strings of income" coinage into it. I currently am in a lucrative profession totally unrelated to other any skills I possess. One or two i have freely shared to willing learners on NL and many others I have showcased on "instructables" website. So when I read the first few statements of your thread, I said to myself: "finally someone generous enough to simplify the common Fiverr knowledge out there without fleecing people". But I was so disappointed when your second link demanded 3k plus after telling much rosy stories on your Fivver exploits. More painful is the fact that based on my initial impression, I almost condemned those accusing you on this thread not knowing that they had already checked your link.

In my own case, the "problem" so to speak is that I get discouraged by any internet manoeuvre that involves masking my IP. This is the major reason I have not gotten on the Fiverr bandwagon, the less important being to carve out "time" from my already busy schedule. But like I said, I am disappointed and I believe I echo the minds of every other forumites that have viewed your thread with hope of getting some or all questions answered by you.

Apparently you only tried to generate traffic to your link "money spinning link" using Nairaland, a step which may not be entirely bad if seen from the prism of internet marketing and such. But discretion in its use is also required in non-random web community sites like Nairaland.

For data entry; Ms word, Excel, typing and Internet is all you need. Go to fiverr and search for Virtual assistant, open the gigs(services) of those rendering such services and read their description it would give you more insight.

Also search virtual assistant on google.

While I don't have anything against the op, I think it's always good to give back something to a forum that made it possible for you to make good money online.
If you are really interested in making money with freelancing, there are enough threads that has been created on this business section.
Just try and search for it and you won't need any costly eBook.

How can I get another card of payoneer. The first I collected expired without being used and when I used a new account with another email for a new card I was referred to my previous account. How can I get another card knowing fully well that the previous account had my previous house address with it.
I have tried. It's like payoneer does not respond to emails. It's computer generated response that I get.

Apply with another mail. another contact address where you can receive the card same name,Apply with your phone, don't use pc. They'll send your card without asking for any document.

While in the University, I promised myself that I wasn’t going to apply for any job after school. I stuck to it and kept learning as many skills and trying as many businesses as I can.

Of all the businesses I have tried, Freelancing was the best and most paying of them all. I still do it till now.

It’s over three years after school and I haven’t for a second thought of applying for any job, yet I earn more than many senior level workers in both federal and private sectors through freelancing.

Now, I’m not saying this to boast.

On the contrary, I’m writing this to encourage my fellow Nigerian youths, especially those who are unemployed or underemployed to look towards freelancing.

It’s the easiest business you can start from home with just your laptop and internet connection.

Yes, all you need is a computer and internet connection and you can start earning the type of money that will make your working class friends envy you.

What is Freelancing?

In case you don’t know is the art of selling your skill and time for money. The skill could be writing, graphic designs, typing, research, video animation, web design, music production, etc.

There are platforms where business owners around the world come to hire people with these skills and pay them for the needed services.
When you register on those platforms, these business owners gets to see you and hire you to do a job for them.

They pay you in dollars according to the amount you both agree on. This is usually in dollars and that’s one of the most important reasons why I work on Freelance portal……at least, I will always live above recession.

How much can you make from Freelancing and how can you receive the money you earn?

You can earn from $500 (N180,000) and above per month, working from home and spending not more than five hours per day.

Personally, I earn between $850 and $2,500 (though I have earned up to $3,000 in a month twice since I began 20months ago). That is between N280,000 and N825,000 and most importantly, I work for less than 4hours daily.

You receive your money through Payoneer which is a payment option acceptable for Nigerians. Payoneer gives you a customized ATM card where every money you earn is loaded. Whenever you want to withdraw, you just slot it into any ATM machine and it will pay you the Nigerian equivalent. You can also use exchangers as they pay higher (black market rate) than banks.

I use this card to do shakara every time I go to an ATM. I like to use it to intimidate bankers as 90% of them have never seen such ATM……lol.

Again, I’m not saying this to boast, but to encourage you to stop complaining and whining about the unemployment in the country and start taking your own destiny into your own hands.

Which freelancing platform should you start with?

There are a whole lot of them: Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer, FiverrUp, etc.
But I always recommend Fiverr, maybe because that’s where I started and found huge success.

How much do you need to invest to get started?

Absolutely nothing, except maybe data, which can’t cost you more than 2K per month.

All you need is a laptop (some say phones work too, but I prefer laptop) and internet connection.
With this, you are ready to start banking heavy income working from your room and earning a cool living.

Can you sustain a family with freelancing?

I added this question because I saw a Nairalander ranting that you can’t sustain a family on freelancing.

That is a fat lie.

I’m taking care of myself and my immediate family from my freelance income. I’m not married yet, but I have a fiancée who I also take care of through freelance.

If you treat freelancing as a business, it will pay you like a business owner.

How do I get started?

I can only show you how to start on Fiverr because that’s where I work. If you need help with other platforms, you can Google it or ask the question here on Nairaland to get help (I’m sure there are many Nairalanders earning huge income from this).

If you want to get started on Fiverr, I can guide help you with a very detailed tutorial for it here with images and illustrations so you can successfully register and start banking big cash.

Remember, you should stop ranting about the Government. Focus that energy to learn and start earning huge calms. When you are comfortable, you can easily face the Government without being deceived by their bag of rice sharing.

Good luck to you. If you want to learn how I did it, CLICK HERE.

@Op Yes, there is money on Fiverr! No doubt. But, charging 5k for an eBook is outrageous. I laughed when u said you made $8k+ since 2015, see, you can make more than that. When I was fully into fiverr I average around 2k monthly. But now I'm no more fiverring (Crypto has taken over) but I still receive orders once in a while.. like I do this morning $150.

I am not here to spoil your Biz, buh you should reduce the price for those willing to buy.

@Nairalanders, you shouldn't be lazy, try to search through this forum coz there are great free fiverr tutorials, instead of you buying an EBook for 5k while there is no 100% assurance that you will get a single order.

My last piece, No matter all you read, you need to take action! Reading all ebooks in this world and tutorials without a proven action and plan won't make make you a dime!

Hey Man, Freelancing is not overhyped. I make nothing less than $800 per month on the average, and upto $2000 sometimes.

But I as a person will never sell an eBook in an attempt to educate people about how it works... it's just a cheapish type of rip-off.

Who even get time dey sell eBook when orders Bolu for fiverr to attend to. undecided

You're right bro. I think people only have the time to write ebooks when they are no longer getting orders. Like me, I get lots of orders although the prices are not encouraging. I even deliver almost all my orders late due to too much work. I am in the writing niche though.
What's your niche. Perhaps I could join you to make up $2k a month.

Bigboyz32:

For data entry; Ms word, Excel, typing and Internet is all you need. Go to fiverr and search for Virtual assistant, open the gigs(services) of those rendering such services and read their description it would give you more insight.

Also search virtual assistant on google.

Are you saying you post request or you bid on the buyer request section?
If you are a seller, you should be bidding for jobs there, not posting request there.

Don't restrict your writing to only relationship and lifestyle. You should also Create general article writing gigs.
