I want to know if its possible to get a refund for a rented apartment. I paid early June around the 7th, and moved in on the 20th. There are some environmental / security issues in the area which makes me regret renting the apartment. The apartment is decent as its a new house but the area is too too quiet, not more than 5 shops in total in the area, these shops are closed around 8:30pm max. I usually get home around 9:30 and when entering the street, its very dark. This is something I am not used to, hence, I feel alone and insecure.

I could talk to the Landlady, but I want inputs of professionals in the field.

Thank you, But I'll require the consent of the Landlady first before going ahead to do this yes? The area is by Pastor Oni Church, Church Bus Stop, not far from Mile 12.

If you rent out the apartment without the consent of your landlady, you will be in bigger problems than just getting a refund. Better go and meet your landlady and explain things to her.

Meet with the landlady and inform her you got a job outta Lagos and there is need for you to relocate,she can inform her agent to get a replacement for you and you get refund for the number of months left after the new tenant must have paid but take ur mind off getting back your agreement and commission fees paid oo.

Yeah, this was the exact scenario that occurred. She wouldnt even bulge off the caution fee. I'm still thinking this tho. I might stay the year and zoom off, or zoom off now and feel the loss. 100K no be kekere money.
