Youwin Grant is sure.. Don't mind him.

I personal wrote for a woman who was selected during the first youwin program.. But just that she and the husband mismanaged the Millions that was given to her.. They opens a small laboratory, bought a car and the rest of the cash was swept down.

I deeply think that Yowin should focus more on monitoring the activities of successful awardees. Because the rate at which the winners spend this money on unrelated stuff is actually what is making youwin to seem as fake.

I'll need your assistance kindly mail me eiyerejames@gmail.com

I wish this info could be published or sent to the organizers to take note.

People just come here to spew bull$hit without an iota of knowledge about the subject matter.

Did you read the post at all before jumping in with a comment?
Trust me, you guys are mistaken. The present Youwin connect under Buhari is different from Jonathan's Youwin. That's the fact. The present Youwin is just for training only. There is no single grant. I am telling you the fact. Please take your time and read their condition for participation. The 2.5 billion naira, some of you are thinking is for grant is wrong. It's for equity investment in viable business after training. Which you must pay back. BOI Yes-P is still better than Youwin connect. Though it's a loan too.

Youwin under the last administration was fraught with a lot of corruption, monies were just handed out to people, not entirely on merit. This is because I know very good brains that applied, went through the rigorous processes, but didn't end up being beneficiaries. What is wrong with equity investment in viable business though?? Are you aware many were handed cash that didn't end up in the businesses they collect the monies for??

Of course that was stated by the minister when the initiative was launched. My worry however is that she said then that government would mobilize the fund "annually as equity investment in start-ups and early stage SMEs through qualified fund managers under a co-investment model"
Please note the key word in the quoted - co-investment model. That doesn't sound to me as a grant(I may be wrong though)

Going by the antecedents of this current Federal government, coupled with the fact that there is no concrete info on the website as to the nature of the fund. It is safe not to assume it's going to be a grant.

Perhaps financial analysts and economists in the house can assist educate us on what a co-investment funding model means

I have no problem with equity investment Seriously. But the problem is equity investment is mostly for existing business, not start up. That's why you will notice Youwin connect is unpopular among Nigerian youth unlike Jonathan's Youwin. Jonathan's Youwin give grant to start up. There are many graduates that have business ideas and training but still can not start their business because they have no start up capital. And banks give loans only to existing business and not start up. Which is the mistake the same you win connect is making.

A quick one please bro,

When paying back equity investment, do you pay same amount or with interest?

Thank you

Equity investment means you will sell equity stake in your business to an investor. So you will use the money they pay you to expand and grow the business. The consequence is that the business is not yours 100℅ anymore. Incase of mismanagement, the business can be acquired from you by the investor.

Now this is where Youwin connect are very smart. They are not going to pay you any money. Rather they will link successful beneficiary after the training to private equity investor. Who will evaluate your business and know its worth and viability before investing in it. So its not automatic to applicants. Rather it's favour existing business owner more than start up. Cause they will have records and transactions to back up their business.

Times have changed,we're now in the era of the fraudulent certificate-less nomadic terrorist dullard Buhari.Who has brought untold hardship to millions of Nigerians and has succeeded in killing so many businesses and rendering so many jobless.
Dark hearted serpent called Buhari.

what exactly is the 2.5 billion for then if they will link you up with a private equity investor? Will the FG give the investor the money or what? won't the private investor cough out his own money or is the whole 2.5 billion for trainings? Please if you know shed some light

Thanks for the explanation brother,
I became scared when their fb handler(s) kept dodging the question when I pushed it to them via their fb page. They kept referring me to the website when infact there is no detailed info about the fund structure on the website.

Meanwhile, were you able to eventually access YESP fund?

Thanks once again for the explanation
Great guy!

Don't say what u know nothing about... I was among the first awardee 2011, I didnt contact anyone and the funny part was that I have not been to Abuja my entire life until when I was selected.
The program was 90% based on merit.
The problem we had then was that some collected the money bought land then zoom to abroad like a guy I heard of.
This current Youwin connect am not clear about their point because youwin was plain about the grant which was between 1 to 10m

Ok it's fine bro. Let's see how this pans out. I think it's rather too early to be all negative about it. I hope you still doing well too

Click "No" when asked if you have a business. Save and continue to the next page. You will then be able to apply well.
