Restructuring or Disintegration; it would have to be one of the two! Restructure now, and then amend the constitution for option of a referendum for peaceful disintegration if desired by any group or region. |

clarocuzioo:I Agree with you. Ordinarily devolution of powers would have been an ideal way to ensure developments and efficiency of government, but given our present crop of politicians, devolution will be a disaster and might lead to unimaginable crisis. Ordinary devolving electoral powers to the states in terms of Local Government Elections, and the governors and godfathers turn the state electoral body to its electoral selection organ. So much so that the ruling party always clean sweep the elections. The last Lagos State Local Government elections was a sham of an election, most of electorate had no idea of the candidates in the election, in some centres no election took place, but result were declared. Now, imagine if the governors control the state police, the governors would terrorize all opponents. Already the State Assemblies and State Judiciary is already a branch of the governor's office. |

Most of them would not return to the national assembly, if they make the mistake of passing this bill- but lets wait, of what benefit is this bill to the average Nigerian working with a target, or the one trying to put meals of his families table? Another waste of our time, when we are ready, we would wake up and recall all of this abrogates ..... NNNEEEXXXTTT |

Good morning Nigerians..Where are the one nigeria and apc aplologists? Its a pity that some nigerians are begining to realize what Nnamdi Kanu saw many years ago. One thing is clear, Hausa/Fulani oligarchs would rather die than see Nigeria restructured. We are watching..... |

ONce again I praise Saraki for bringing this to a vote It is obvious that most of the 48 who voted NO will be from the North and the South West Change does not come easy, this bill need to be presented again and argued again |

gberra:I said it, that people with brains of folks like you from obsolete epochs would hover around to stir some dust. I don't judge you consequential, but I should just silence you once and for all. The originators of this current problem, this untold hardship of two years, and the grand fathers of these new crop of looters disguised as Leaders and this national burden we call government, are both TINUBU and OBASANJO. Take it or leave. But I thank God they did bring about this government, at least the breeze has blown and we have seen the buttocks of the fowl. |

I just said it in the morning that those guys up there don't really know the state of things in this nation speaking of which they have no idea what the youth are passing through unfortunately many youth are waiting for some some one to lead so they could follow reason Nnamdi kanu is gaining ground. Something is coming those leaders"ll be surprise I think this is where the 28th law of power comes to play unfortunately some of our youth still thinks they have a lot to lose |
| Re: Senate Rejects Devolution Of Powers To States by ottohan: 4:59pm On Jul 26, 2017 |
I know that it will be the northern senators that will vote against it... It is obvious that when powers are devolved, each state will have full control over its own resources and the central power i.e FG will weaken a little, thus each state will only survive on what it generates and produces but the hausa/fulani know that their states doesnt generate anything it is very clear that money gotten from the south is used to develop the north, they should better start preparing for life after BIAFRA. |

^^ You can see that the problem of this country boils down to the individual and unpatriotic leaders. |

Viergeachar:The NASS is not a branch of the current presidency because their funding does not depend on the presidency, they are on first line charge. They receive their funds directly from the federation account. The NASS can and do disagree with the president on numerous issues. The second a State Assembly disagrees with a Governor, the speaker and other principal officers will be impeached the very next day. Another point is that the presidents party does not have absolute control of the NASS, which is not the case in the State Assemblies. In the state assemblies, the governor is god. |
