How To Tackle Child Abuse? by ceeejaytee(f): 3:30pm On Jul 26, 2017
Child Abuse has been a growing factor for a long time; from Catholic Priests to even the children's parents. All over the world a child is been molested everyday and nothing has been done to help them at that moment.

They are silent because they don't want to get severely beaten by the molesters. They are threatened because they do not have a say in the matter since the molester has the upper hand.

It baffles me when I think of scenarios like: a young child goes to a church to worship God, finds either an ordained brother or a church personnel there who acts like he/she wants to give counselling or advice. The child explains his/her problem and concluded to the fact that he/she has faith in that ordained brother or church personnel and trusts him/her to inspire and help uplift the child's spiritual belief. But then again, the ordained brother or church personnel after seeing this desperate child, uses the desperation as an advantage. Why? Just to satisfy his/her useless pleasure...

At the end of the day, that child is emotionally unstable, psychologically deranged and his spiritual belief will drastically burn down; is it faith the child wanted? He/she no longer needs it. As the child grows older, he/she would begin to have hatred for churches, especially for priests.

Has that child's spiritual level not gone down the drain?

Child Abuse at homes are seriously disgusting, it could be the parents or the relatives. When the child is abused by the family, he/she loses trust in anybody around him/her. There will be a time where to get into a relationship would be difficult at some point and that could be regarded as a traumatic reflection or abuse in the life of the child when he/she grows up.

What could be done about this issue?
So many children have died as a result of child abuse and some are still alive as survivors; they are seriously in pain.

What's your view on this

Well said but unfortunately it's rather impossible to eradicate CHILD ABUSE in our society. If you will agree with me, it has been happening for a long time and it has continued. It is however noticeable now because of the increased population.
The only solution to this BRING UP YOUR CHILD IN THE WAY OF GOD and continue to pray for them, mind the kind of people you live your kids with. I have seen a lot as a Home Teacher and for God's sake some of these children are exposed to what they shouldn't be.
May God bless us all.

Yes, it's so sad that it can't be eradicated just yet. As for the solution you proposed, many families have neglected that part of taking care of the children. So I think some families need to be educated about that area seriously. Thank you!

I wished the same too... the awareness has to be viral to prevent the next generation of children falling victims to Child Abuse in future.

Seeing thread of Children been abused lately is making me angry, it has even gotten to the extent of some so called fathers are now the abuser....

It's time for the government to do something about it, A bill should be passed into law, whoever is found guilty should be sentenced to death or life in prison.
If drastic actions are not taken, children will keep suffering from this, and the abuser won't stop..

They should stop arresting them, and later bail them out, it doesn't help, it's not helping anymore....

Exactly, although the bill for an Act on Child Abuse 2003 states in section 32 sub section (2)- the offender will be liable on conviction to a fine of five hundred thousand naira or imprisonment to a term of five years. But the question is 'is five years enough??'

Do our judges even go back to the constitution....
They are always not found guilty, that's if they are eventually taken to court....
Money is not enough, even the five years is not, compare to the emotional trauma this children will have to live with for the rest of their lives.....

It should be imprisonment for life or death, it might not eradicate it fully, but it will go a long way...

What's the duty of this GIRL CHILD AWARENESS I keep hearing?
Is it just for gender equality, education and the rest,is Child Abuse not included?

I agree with you five years isn't enough, life imprisonment should be the case. Plus the girl child awareness to me is really not including child abuse... boys are also abused why don't they know that?

What I understand is nobody cares anymore, all those flag off of one thing or the other they do,should be reduced first....

Child Abuse is slowly eating deep into our society and I fear a time will come, when people won't be able to do anything about it or even find no wrong in it...

A black goat should be searched for during the day , because when night comes one won't find it.
