UPDATE ON SEARCH AND RESCUE OF NNPC STAFF


Yesterday Tuesday 25th July 2017, at about 3.00pm, suspected Boko Haram terrorists ambushed the escort and team of Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) staff returning from oil exploration at Barno Yasu, Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State. On receipt of the information, the Brigade mobilized and sent reinforcement, search and rescue party that include the Armed Forces Special Forces and guides that worked and pursued the terrorists throughout the night. So far, they have rescued all the NNPC staff and recovered the corpses of the Officer, 8 soldiers and a civilian have who have been evacuated to 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital. The team recovered 4 vehicles one of which include a gun truck mounted with an Anti-Aircraft Gun, 2 white Hilux taken away from NNPC staff and 1 blue Hilux belonging to CJTF. They team also recovered large quantities of arms and ammunition, several spare tyres, many jerry cans of containing Petroleum, Oil and Lubricant, assorted drugs, Improvised Explosive Device (IED) making materials, reflective jackets and a Motorola handheld radio, among others. The team also neutralized many of the terrorists. The troops are not relenting in the pursuit, search and rescue effort. A major general once told my dad that if the military had reacted under 24 hours in which the chibok girls got kidnapped, they would have been rescued.

Now, you might know where they are but going in is very dangerous. LaLandmines etc.


Moreover, I feel at the peak of BHT, intelligence was very low.

In as much as 8 military personnel seems much for 9-15 civilians. That means 2 military hilux and little fire power.
I even doubt If the hilux might be armed (as seen in the video in which bokoharam attacked NPF convoy )

So two vehicles means whatever diversion bokoharam has to use will be on the military vehicle. RPG, RCIED etc. Now the first vehicle military vehicle is down and BHT has to deal with the remaining one.

Then after the UN-existing mission, have the airforce sweep the area and detect any thermal signature along the route the convoy has to pass through. (I need armed recon for this Shiit) fire on those bastards on sight.

Something happened in Iraq. I'm not in support of extremism and terrorism but I think there are necessary evil. Thant's why I think Assad should be supported in Syria.

For now the Army hierarchy are still not giving a clear picture if what happened. New reports coming in says the death toll us rising has a result of the 40 days ultimatum giving by the COAS to capture shekau dead or alive.

But if truly those 8 soldiers where truly ambushed , trust me we should be excepting a propaganda video from BHT boasting of there ambush.

Thanks for pointing this out. @bidexii, Going by the images of arms recovered from the ambush, it is obvious that BHT is fed with troop planning and movement in that region.

These Info's cost more than a leg and a arm and it is obvious snitches are selling out and only BH has the resources to pay for this.

BH is changing tactics real fast, let's hope the military tidy their own end of the knot. There has to be serious investment in aerial surveillance especially when it involves movement of highly priced human assets.
