Our population is too much bro, check the density and you'd be amazed, the whole land area of Nigeria is not up to 1 million sq km, and we're already having a population of over 200 million, I tell you it's not good. The projections is even more scary, we'll be the 4th most populous country in another 2 decades, at the rate we're multiplying, and we're not even in the first 30 in land mass, and just so you know, I used land as a base of reference to just mean the basic human need, shelter, I don't want to think that these population still has to feed, cloth, etc, while I think the Chinese law is a little extreme, I think a version of it is needed in Nigeria, don't give birth to kids you don't have the resources to Carter for, it's inhuman.

Your head dey there, I'd be always be an unapologetic advocate of family planning, and I'll surely practice what I preach, can't give birth to more than two kids no matter how much my hustle pays off, well spaced too, no pressure at all, empower them adequately to add something to the human experience not leaving them to the mercy of chance.

It's not in our power to bring children into the world I agree, but all things being equal, God has given us the choice to decide when, and how many, use that choice well.

as for me, there is nothing bad in reproducing, though it should be base on calculation and agreement by the couple, if u r very cautious u won't produce more than what you can cater for,also going for abortion should not be seen as a means or killing a disabled baby will be too harsh, wicked and cruel, EVERYONE ON EARTH HAS A ROLE TO PLAY, literate or illiterate, drop out or graduate, able or disable. Parents do the upbringing while the individual choose the direction to follow"the good way or the bad way". mind you, even those whose parents are financially buoyant or a graduate can end up as a terrorist or a criminal...income and child upbringing are different,,,,, most parents did not just leave their children to suffer because of their level of income/numbers (say 6 ) but because they r not ready for the children well-being..

To you it's unrealistic but to me that's standard and I won't settle for anything less.

I'm an early years teacher, working in a nursery and primary school.
On a daily basis, I see and play with many children including the normal children and the ones with special needs and disabilities.
Meanwhile, I am also a woman who is trying to conceive, every time I pray that God bless me with fruit of the womb I also include prayers for healthy normal children.

Believe me it is more challenging to teach children with special needs and also very expensive for the parents and sometimes it is scary, they often behave more irrationally than other children.

I always say that I would never have more children than the number I can single handedly raise comfortably.
I want to be able to shower my children with love and give them a luxurious life.
Sponsor their education, if my child decides s/he wants to be a PhD holder by age 30, I would love to be able to sponsor that education.

I have seen children that are brilliant dropping out of school cause their parents can't pay their fees.

Lets all choose wisely.

If the deed has been done, terminate the pregnancy at the early stage when there won't be complications. Is that too difficult a task to do?

This thread is about the prevention of the problem not the problem itself. Prevention is always better than cure that's why we are begging people to be reasonable and considerate. Nigeria clearly has no plan for kids like these, even the developed world that has got plans in place for these type of kids, they still end up useless most times. Let's just tackle the root cause of the problem
