Excellent question. Simple: Let the common citizens start "grassroots movements". This small, but powerfully effective type of "guerilla" movements (sans violence/weaponery) is how most of civil rights issues got started AND consequently addressed in US. And it really only takes one person take initiative and stand up, then gather and garner supporters. With advent of social media, this "movement" can go viral in half a New York minute. Magdagascariens: You don't. In fact, it is to be expected. That's is where the rubber meets the road. Case in point: Martin Luther King was assassinated. Did his message die? Nope. It carried on. Today and all of history is living proof right? My point exactly. Rally enough people to believe in the cause. You can never eradicate human spirit as long as the fire keep spreading. |

by making sure they don't vote for weak, senseless old men. We need young and diplomatic people. People like Donald Duke, Alfred Rewane, Tony Elumelu and more reasonable people who understand how things work in modern days, not old school politicians who lead with hate, tribal and religious sentiments. Nigerians also need to start participating by asking their leaders to account for money spent. Protest to make sure they show you how much they spend on roads and other infrastructures. The press also needs to wake up. 1 Like |

[quote author=mikolo80 post=59040170]where the politics is happening. party meetings. not Nairaland[/quote You make sense bro. How do you know I'm not an active party member? Not all Nairalanders are online politicians! It's just said when you see what happens even in the few SANE political parties. You either play dirty or 'get out'. And once you are lured, yur forever entangled. |

mikolo80: Isn't it just logical that parties put out their best brains and candidates? Why do politicians amass huge monies to bribe , hire tout, etc. When they can use same to impact their constituencies, and thereby gaining their trust? On and on! |

Magdagascariens:nobody puts anything. they put who can win. because only touts come out to vote, the rest stay at home on election day. 70 million registered in Nigeria only 28 million came out to vote |
