SalamRushdie:Why not show us a media link of the Jonathan regime achieving 9000MW installed capacity as at May 2015? Anybody can bandy about wild figures. What we need is a reliable source. |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by SalamRushdie(op): 8:12am On Aug 01, 2017 |
StOla:No we are currently suffering epileptic power supply because the Discos keep rejecting power from GENCOs so thy can actually sell Darkness under guise of estimated bills and the truth is Fashola must be in cahoots with them to RIP Nigerians because I don't see why he is always more interested in Tarriffs increase than the distribution of prepaid meter just the same way he was always interested in completing the Lekki toll gate first instead of completing the mere 35 kms road first and you can see that despite collecting tolls for nearly 8 years on that road he never completed it just like now he wants tarriffs increase before supply of power can improve ..who thinks like that abeg if not a criminal |

greatiyk4u:Stop being silly you and I know your response was nothing but lies starting form where you said Nigeria was generating 6000MWs when in truth we are currently below 3000Mws .I know you being paid to post lies so I don't blame you..Thank you |

@ op channel ur anger to d former president gej, cos he was d one who sold phcn to a useless company that couldn't fund the sector instead resulted in borrowing from federal government to fund its own privately managed sector, which kind munu business b dat ![]() |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by NuclearWinter: 8:24am On Aug 01, 2017 |
StOla:You are really pathetic One minute you are claiming Fashola is working and adding to the grid and now you are saying one year is too small to finish a power plant. So from where is the power projected output of 6000mw coming from? During OBJ we had an installed capacity of under 3000mw which GEJ doubled to 6000MW in just 5yrs. If under GEJ we witnessed double our total power capacity since 1960, how many watts has your over sabi Fashola added? Answer : not a single light bulb wattage! |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by SalamRushdie(op): 8:25am On Aug 01, 2017 |
StOla:Here is a link below that clearly states that by Dec 2012 Nigeria already had a capacity for nearly 7000MWs and with the Jonathan govt adding an average of 450Mws per year you will see it got to 9000Mws and I remember it was even announce by the govt http://sweetcrudereports.com/2013/01/09/nigeria-to-achieve-10000mw-power-generation-this-year/ |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by NuclearWinter: 8:26am On Aug 01, 2017 |
updatechange:Funniest thing is that even your Fashola is siding with the Power plants citing forex restraints and energy theft beleaging the sector. Stop blaming Jonathan. The last administration doubled the installed capacity you had since independence to 6000mw in just 5yrs. |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by NuclearWinter: 8:27am On Aug 01, 2017 |
SalamRushdie:While Fashola is yet to add a single bulb of watt in 2yrs |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by StOla: 8:42am On Aug 01, 2017 |
SalamRushdie:Even the link say Nigeria to achieve 10,000MW .... So was it achieved? Should I also show the the link from the power industry technocrats saying Nigeria to achieve 6000MW as at 2016? |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by StOla: 8:47am On Aug 01, 2017*. Modified: 9:03am On Aug 01, 2017 |
NuclearWinter:I already trounced your logic. Whatever Jonathan achieved which obviously wasn't 6000MW, are we to award it to the Obasanjo and Yar Adua regime because they conceived It? Was Jonathan not meant to complete what he inherited? Was Buhari/Fashola not meant to complete projects they inherited because they did not conceive it? So why are you condemning Fashola when you already know that Jonathan did not conceive for you to have uninterrupted power as at mid 2017? Or did Fashola sabotage or abandon any power project of the Jonathan regime? Or did I ever argue that Fashola must have conceived a power project to take the glory for its completion during his own tenure? Can you please show me where I made such assertion? If not, you are just running around in circles defeating your own argument. |

obailala:Aren't the discos regulated by bodies under Fashola? Please stop using telcos as example. NCC is under minister of communications just like NERC and other power regulatory body are under Fashola. Plus Fashola also promised us prepaid meter. |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by deomelo: 3:35pm On Aug 01, 2017 |
StOla:Or because privatization of the power sector now means Fashola is a power generator and distributor. The OP asked the question simply because of ignorance and not knowing that the industry is now private and no longer government owned or controlled. The questions the OP should be asking is what happened to the $20 billion power funds the past PDP/Jona administration budgeted and looted that gave us nothing but darkness. Also what 16 years of PDP didn't give us 24/7 power supply Also why the PDP/Jona sold and privatized the power sector to their cronies and friends with zero knowledge about power generation and distribution and even no money to invest and improve operations. |

Desyner:Biko answer the question, do you attack NCC when MTN or GLO gives you poor network connection? |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by Desyner: 4:40pm On Aug 01, 2017 |
obailala:Yes, I do. So what's your point. |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by obailala(m): 4:56pm On Aug 01, 2017 |
Desyner:Okay... That's fine. If you truly attack the NCC chairman and the communications minister whenever you get poor mtn or Glo network as you claim, then there's nothing strange in you attacking the power minister for the ineptitude of the DISCOS. What is my point?... My point is that since 2014 or so when the DISCOS where handed over to private establishments, there's not much authority the power minister has over them anymore; I even doubt the minister has the power to sack the ditectors of the DISCOS. Except you want the entire privatization to be reversed and the DISCOS handed back to govt, but that would even be a disastrous move as it would attract a protracted litigation which may even ensure the nation is kept in total darkness for a decade. |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by deomelo: 5:00pm On Aug 01, 2017 |
obailala:He definitely can not sack or touch any private individual in the private sector. The posters you are quoting obviously don't know the meaning of privatization, they hear power minister and automatically think the minister is the reason why they don't have power. It's lack of education. |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by Desyner: 5:01pm On Aug 01, 2017 |
obailala:Didn't Fashola know these things before opening his mouth? |

obailala:There.. . Afonja has shifted the goal post.... |
| Re: Is Fashola The Worst Power Minister In The History Of Nigeria by obailala(m): 5:37pm On Aug 01, 2017 |
Desyner:Oh.. because a politician opened his mouth to make campaign statements before election, that is the reason you've chosen to feign ignorance since morning over fact that the DISCOS are now private entities? Good to know where you're coming from... |

StOla:just shut up and stop defending mediocrity. Stop making excuses for failure. Prior to his emergence as Power minister, he was quoted as saying, "Any government which is incapable of fixing our power problem within one year is a failure". That was probably the reason Buhari felt he had the magic wand to the power problem, and subsequently placed the ministry in his grip. If u are husband media officer, go back and inform him that Nigerians are not happy with the power situation. That he should stop supplying his power on the pages of newspapers. But should actually allow householders see the light. |

SalamRushdie:Me I have more than 12 Hours light every day in my house in lagos. I don't know why Nigerians don't do research on why things happen before coming out to make conclusion out of emotion. Have you gone to your nearest disco office in your area to find out why? Its not good my brother. Did you know that your senators slashed power budget and for borehole and toilet in their constituencies and they almost sacked him. Do you know that once your distribution tower is bad, the whole community can't have power so is this fasholas fault? |

Teacher1776:My guy, power has been a problem in this country that you don't have light is caused by many factors and one thing I know for sure iis that fashola is not one of it. Power has been a problem for more than 16 yrs and you expect fashola. To tackle the rot in the former nepa in. Just 2yrs? |
