ariesbull:Oh, yeah! Brandish the good side. Suck in the people. Play on their intelligence. Give them pleasure. Then, when it's too late, unleash the hidden bad and ugly. The increasing refining and perfecting of AI science and technology can and will only lead ultimately to human subjugation and slavery. Pre-apocalyptic, it is paving the way to the emergence of the Beast. How did I know? My Bible tells me so! That's why my Lord and Master, Jesus, told me to 'watch and pray' and to be sober and vigilant in these end times. He says many will be deceived by Satan, the Father of Lies (deception) and all liars (deceivers). It all started in the Garden of Eden, but will end very soon faster than we think. |

The future is going to be tough somehow with our present populations, AI advantages is that corruption will reduce and the world government and their selfish politics will not like this, and it might lead to internet world war |

elfico:If its not if else statements, then what is it? The machine learns as it is instructed Independent of man, the machine cannot give itself any instruction. Machine learning is an apt misnomer. Machine imitation would be just fine. Everything a machine does is imitation. Machines excel in one area only: speed |

This should not be a matter for fear. If we have a God fearing government Tax relief for companies should be based on a system that place premium on number of people you employ as incentive. If you employ only robots you get zero incentive and additional penalty for cheating and able to produce 24 -7 because you don't need shifts. Every change in life requires a corresponding reaction to balance the change. Not wanting always to maintain a status quo without corresponding need to ensure stability. which is also the bane in Nigeria and Hallmark of a leadership bereft of cognitive idea and progressive judgement and purposefulness. |

TheLordIsGr8: Sorry to burst your bubble. There's no such thing as [b]Artificial Intelligence. Its all just a bunch of if...else blocks... So-called AI does exactly what a real intelligence tells it to do.True!! Booyakasha:he is right bro... Its all about " if" "then" "else" |

EntMirror:You guys are far behind on development in AI tech. AI is a threat to humanity, Elon musk was right all this while. Facebook was forced to shut down their AI robots after they adopted their unique language (that scientists could not comprehend) to interact amongst themselves and execute tasks. Do more research. |

TheLordIsGr8:You missed it here. Your views on AI is outmoded. It is evident you know little about the powers of computing and AI to be specific. AI is all graciously filled with predicate and propositional logics held of high esteem to low degree logics such as if and else blocks. I still laugh at that though, read more on logics and computing and more light shall be shed on the subject matter. |

shalomj:And the AI invented logic. Good one. Like I said earlier. Artificial Intelligence is a misnomer. Artificial Imitation is more like it. |

Are you joking ![]() Nigerians already import intelligence and its citizens lose jobs everyday, automatically! Most jobs requiring higher intelligence is done by expats (you called them expatriates): indians, chinese, lebanese and other low level non-white people! machines or not, Nigerian citizens lack the commonsense (not education) to perform certain jobs! |
| Re: Artificial Intelligence: Why Nigerians Shouldn’t Fear Over Loss Jobs To Automat by Nobody: 9:12am On Aug 02, 2017 |
win2kwire:Actually its not because Nigerians aren't intelligent enough to do those jobs. I agree that some expatriates are better trained and have more experience in those fields. That fact has nothing whatsoever to do with intelligence. Its just an accident of location for them. But that doesn't tell the whole story. If you follow the money and you'll find out why they outsource most of those jobs. |

TheLordIsGr8:Not true, you are far behind in this area. AI have the capacity to self develop, and there lies the danger. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2017/08/01/facebook-shuts-robots-invent-language/ |

Really? So robots were able to adopt their own unique language? Does that mean they have consciousness? This is sounding like sci-fi. I will do more research bro.. Thanks.... 1freshdude: |

TheLordIsGr8:The difference between a pro and amateur is training. Nigerians are not innately dull, they are just not trained to do stuffs. Go to the U.S, Germany and U.K among others and see black people holding things down. Training is lacking because the infrastructures for training are not there. |

TheLordIsGr8:Well the problem of Nigeria has always been a refusal (or mentality to understand) the problems, as such solutions cannot be sought - you prove the point , again and again! Nigerians are educated people, they have more degrees per capita than most blacks in the rest of the world but many Nigerians lack commonsense and intelligence! They may study in many fields and while there are those who become highly celebrated the majority fail to harness their brains to fully utilize the education in a commonsense way! Religion, culture, mentality and dated practices renders most Nigerian education dead on arrival! I continue to chat with Nigerian medical doctors, engineers, scientists, everyday and while they understand the theoretical part of their subjects their mentality (Nigerian diluted) forms their constructive thoughts and so it is easy for a Chinese kid to make nonsense of their education in 5 minutes. In many interviews of Nigerians with very high degrees and education their local mentality kicked in to render them less employable which is why almost all multinational companies in Nigeria employ from abroad and from Nigerians who live abroad or have studied abroad! |

1freshdude:Whatever development any AI(mitation) may manage to achieve was programmed into it by a Real Intelligence or introduced by a bug or a hack. If an AI(mitation) ever goes rogue it would be no different than your windows 10 crashing, not because it has "decided" to go rogue. 1freshdude:Two malfunctioning piece of software "invents" a language? Hahahahahahaha. This one ought to be in the guinness book of records for joke of the year. Imagine if someone had asserted that a group of monkeys chatting had "invented" a language. He/She will be laughed to scorn. But because its coming from "almighty" FB its suddenly possible that two piece of software "crashing" were actually "inventing" a language. Further comments on the matter Few days ago I read about some scientists who were working on designing their "own" DNA, complete with specific traits. These are most likely the same set of people who vehemently deny intelligent design. Assume their experiment works out will it prove intelligent design or evolution? Out of nothing, nothing comes. If AI(mitation) can become really "independent" then its possible that man's intelligence is also "independent" of any external input. Then man will be the measure of all things. That is the godlessness they've been trying to sell. If any AI(mitation) will have independence then it has to be given, not taken. This is social engineering people. Not science. |
