In recognition of the 40-year-old's incredible career for the Italian side, the club have sent a replica of his final shirt into space
Francesco Totti may have retired, but he will always be a star for Roma after a replica of his final iconic jersey was launched into space.

After 28 years, 786 competitive matches, 307 goals and one Serie A title, Totti brought his one-club career to a close at the end of last season.

The 40-year-old is preparing for "a new phase and a new adventure" as he will remain at the Stadio Olimpico in a directorial capacity.

And the iconic No.10 shirt he gave up after his final appearance in the last game of the season has taken its own voyage into the unknown.

In recognition of his stellar efforts on the pitch, the club launched a replica of his final Roma top out of the atmosphere.

Totti gave his approval for the stunt, which came to fruition with his iconic jersey loaded onto the rocket 'Vega' that was launched in French Guiana by space travel organisation Avio.

Even the aliens and transformers will now know that there was once a Francesco Totti that walked the Earth

Really cool!!!

Next CR7 will want to send one of his ballon d'or into space too!

The Guy is really an icon, he might not have been exceptional like CR7 or Messi, but he's also a cult hero. One of d few players I adore
