It depends on the university. The cost of accOmodation per month is from 2000 rand in pretoria or joburg. And it is difficult to get a job as a student.

It is very well known that South Africa does not want people (even students) from Nigeria or central Africa!
They are hated both by the white population and the native black people.
Nigerians are treated as scavengers trying to take jobs and money from locals.

It will depend on which university you will apply to. If its a state university you might be looking at R40,000 or more. If its a private institution like Monash or MGI you are looking at R80,000 plus.
Cost of living per month will depend on how well you save or spend your money. If you run on a tight budget you will be looking at R1300 for food, accommodation for at least R1500/pm (which will not be in the most flattering places... probably a commune) and an extra R300 on utilities and R1000 for extras.

If you want a living more comfortably do expect to pay R3000/pm or more on accomodation, R2500 on food, R500-R1000 on utilities and R2000 for extras.

If you to live an extravagant life, just make sure you receive R10,000 plus per month and you will be just fine.

This is usually because they abide by the law, hence they never get into trouble.
