Nigerian actress, Moyo Lawal, who has been away from social media for some time, has revealed that depression nd suicidal thoughts kept her away. 

According to Moyo Lawal, it all felt like she was living in a body fighting to survive with a mind that has been trying to die.

Here's what she wrote; 

"Dear Lovers ...... Am sorry ,I have been away and silent this past couple of months but you see ,I haven't been able to explain what was going on in my mind and my heart. Depression is more like a mental illness, gets worse at night, I sure know how it feels like! , shutting yourself from the outside world, stuck to your phone, you're struggling to live while battling with suicidal thoughts

Alhamdulilah for my life. I don't wish my enemy what i went through just last week till yesterday. I was attacked spiritually, and i nearly ended my life, i picked my phone and i text my gf, she called my mum and brother immediately, right now, i am giving thanks to God, and i promised myself to keep dis screenshot.

Fight depression with self love, family and good friends. I wonder why Nigerians have depression when we are family oriented. Go down to the village, spend some time with grannies, go to the farm, the stream and spend time with extended relatives.
