why are people so penny wise and pound fo.olish?? in the bid to save money, they erect building with poor quality materials and end up with a collapsed building only to start rebuilding again. makes no sense at all.

Thank God it collapses now, rather than it collapsing when completed and in use.This may just be A way of punishing them for poor work done on the foundation.Maybe I've killed English, don't know sha.

Nope its not.

A shallow foundation is a type of foundation which transfers building loads to the earth very near to the surface, rather than to a subsurface layer or a range of depths as does a deep foundation. Shallow foundations include spread footing foundations, mat-slab foundations, slab-on-grade foundations, pad foundations, rubble trench foundations and earthbag foundations.

example: I have seen people request for or mould up to 80 building blocks from one bag of cement! also, using rod sizes smaller than required especially in storey buildings.

Bro, shallow foundation is an error where the soil is not capable of holding the load of the building. I'm sure this particular case will not be far from this, hence the collapse.

The rate at which building under construction collapse is very surprising... Nigerian foremen and engineers should be strictly checked by the appropriate building agency in Nigeria...I have not heard a building collapse in Ghana..I lived in Ghana for 5 years and never heard a case of collapsed building before...chai
