Yea I know but why? Why intentionally attack and provoke the US knowing surely that would lead to reprisal attacks and ultimately full blown war? That's what I want to know. Does the guy really want that badly to fight that he's even willing to strike the first blow? For what motives or to achieve what purpose exactly?

He didn't give you a complete answer though. Trump drew first blood by threatening North Korea and Kim fired back with the Guam statement.

N.B Kim wont fire a single shot until US does. Washington would have fired several shots but their target have ICBMs
