the earlier you get there the earlier you leave. I don't know how the population will be this period but as at June the crowd was so much that I got there around 10am and left around 8pm. So it's your call to make

Sir the question was answered, whether TRV or study permit, they are distinctions without a difference when it comes to applying for EE and that effecting your visa application. Again the answer is an emphatic no. Applying for a student permit/or TRV and EE at the same time is fine.

@ Teecan, kindly crosscheck with other sites to reconfirm before applying for TRV and EE. According to cic standard, dual intent is allowed and it's possible to apply for both at the same time. However, I read on another site that in reality, it may limit your chances of getting TRV. Please gather more information before applying.

I'll leave it till Monday then.

Did you take cash if yes, how much? I read cash in the range of 50k I'm not sure.

I also don't know if I'm to do biometrics on that day, or only when they request for it.

You need to go with cash as they do not use POS. take 60k with you, although all you need is about 57k.
Biometric is also immediately, same day.

I really don't know. Personally it didn't sound right to me also but I've heard too many people complain about pgds. Everything is speculation though.

Its not that they don't get approved. The bar for approval for PGD is very high to clear. For some reason, VO views it as not a very serious academic endeavor, so usually deny them for purpose of visit. I will encourage people to apply for a masters or PHD or undergraduate and run away from PGD.

@mostblackroads from my own little understanding going by using a third party sponsor would have been nice if he paid your full fees or half to show commitment and even go ahead to transfer the money for your upkeep into your account and also stating in the sponsorship letter that he has paid your fees and transferred money into your account and will even do more "when" your visa is approved! I think that is better

For the misrepresentation, now you have known! In your next application please declare it

If you are not sure it's better to err on the side of caution... It's better to tick" YES " when you have not been denied than to tick "NO" when you have been denied

Lol. That is a pretty novel idea. Just tell the truth, period. The question can't be that hard. Its either you have been denied or you have never been denied. Let your answer be yes or no, anything else comes from evil----Bible.

My lovely people in the house please i need your advice:

My middle name was written as " Shola " on my land doc (deed & survey) instead of " Sola " as on my credentials & Int'l passport.
Can i go ahead to use it as one of my home ties or will that raise unnecessary doubts in the mind of VO. Please advise.

Good evening all, I got a mail from the office of the high commission stating the following as the reason why my visa application was refused " You have not satisfied that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay. In reaching this decision, I considered several factors including: - length of proposed stay in Canada and purpose of visit." I have contacted the school for my admission to be deferred to January. I will be reapplying without my children. Can I start the process now? I have two admission offers I intend to reapply for my visa application using the course with a shorter duration of 16months. The duration of the second program is 2 yrs. kindly assist

This is applicable to most of the countries if not all, including Nigeria. To gain Citizenship status in a country, you must have resided in that country for 10years and above. Then you and file in for citizenship. In some countries, you'll be placed on a exams and if passed, you'll be granted citizenship. Then you can get your passport.

What most people if not all who go for studies in Canada do is, after their studies, they'll be granted a post-study work permit. Usually 1yr work permit for a 1yr study and 3yrs work permit for a 2yr study. During their work permit, they do their IELTS and join the FSWP Express Entry Pool. At this point, with their very high CRS points because of the advantage of Canadian study/work/a valid job offer (these features shoots up CRS points), they'll be given an ITA, and eventually a Permanent Residence Permit Status. Now let me clear this, Permanent Residence permit is NOT citizenship. You are only free to reside and work and school as a citizen (as you won't be required to pay international fees in schools) with all the benefits of a citizen But the Citizenship status and passport. After 10yrs of stay, you can now File for Citizenship.

This is the best I know about the whole thing.

Regards.

Cc: @ronvlaar

There is no rule or law like that after ten years of stay you can apply for citizenship. Where do you get your info from bro? It all depends on circumstances and every case is unique on the path an individual can take to become a citizen. In fact if you marry a Canadian citizen, you can short-circuit all these EE and work permit thing and be a citizen in only five years. Even if you take the EE route, lets say you were invited to become a permanent resident, after four years, you can become a citizen. For those granted refugee status because of instability in their country or someone looking for them to harm them in their country, the period to become a citizen is much shorter. Some people even stay more than twenty years and cannot get citizen either because they were never married to a citizen or were unable to obtain permanent through EE or one thing or the other. 10 years stay is not a parameter for when one must stay before been able to apply to become a citizen.

I strongly disagree with "VO views it as not a very serious academic endeavor, so usually deny them for purpose of visit". If its seen as a not serious academic endeavor, then people like me wont be here and also someone I met on NL that is coming to Vancouver in 2 weeks. When applicants cant show academic or career progression with any intended program of study(PGD, masters and PhD), the purpose of visit arises.

The ratio of denial for PGD I have been seeing here is almost alarming. In comparison to Masters and PHD. In fact I am yet to see a PHD who has been denied. It's not hard to miss why. On the enchelon of importance and credence going by denials here, VOs must think not very good thought for those going for PGD. Good that you made it. For every one or two PGD that made it, those fallen soldiers of PGD on the road side, vastly outnumber. Just thank your God and stop arguing the obvious.

I think the application fee is around 55k, but go with atleast 60k (in case u break somebody's egg...LOL!). you will do biometrics same day. NB: VFS only accepts cash (no POS)

I still stand on the fact that when applicants cant show academic or career progression with any intended program of study(PGD, masters and PhD), it raises questions. I am not arguing and its not the obvious because you have said it and believed it.
