well coursework only type of masters degree is self funded but there are schools like university of waterloo that offer TA positions to their course work only grad stufents.
and as far as tests and requirements are concerned,it depends on each individual graduate schools but the more general but not limited to tests are
*English proficiency test like IELTS or TOEFL
*graduate record examination (GRE)
