I have often wondered about the same thing. If I were to marry a man from Sweden there is expectation that I learn and adapt to the customs and language it won't make front page of anything. If he spoke my dialect/language or wore the traditonal attire it would be viewed as a novelty. In Guangzhou I saw many blaisian children with native and Nigerian names their mothers speak both languages theirs and that of their husbands did I think it odd? Absolutely not we are now a diverse race why it still fascinates peole like this I don't really get it.

Why is all this kind of crap always news?
African men wear suits and all kinds of ridiculous oyinbo outfits, even in the scorching sun of Africa. I've never seen it make any of the papers, blogs etc in the USA or Europe.
We'll be here, smiling and laughing like mumus as if it is something great.
We have a long way to go!

This is not Igbo attire! Igbos are know for tying rappa only, wearing cloth is a borrowed culture.

The oyinbo man needs to check Igbo history and dress properly.

First, I'm not IBO, I'm what you call Onye Yoruba. Then, I thought we're talking Nwankwo Kanu the footballer, not Nnamdi Kanu the IPOB secessionist, correct me if I'm wrong. I like and respect Nwankwo Kanu a lot. He is the number one sportsman in Nigeria as far as I'm concerned.
