Thats how wes sent a mail saying masters doc have been accepted but they've sent a mail requesting for verification for my BSc Transcript (I dont know who send dem message as I only requested to evaluate masters only.) Probably because my school sent both transcripts as both degrees came from there.

However after tweeting, calling, faxing and mailing their customer care all day yesterday saying they should focus on what i requested for, status changed to evaluation in progress in the evening grin. iss laik this people dont know we want to swim soon grin

@balogunsam, how far?
Hello bro, does it mean I can only get my masters assesses? Will it fly? On the other hand, I hope to get my PhD in October, do I wait or go on with my masters assessment? Finally, if I am to evaluate, PhD afterwards, I hope it does not come with an extra charge? Thanks you as I await the response from you and any other person who can really she'd light on this.

I submitted my application this week and I also did not disclose my previous U.K. Refusal in my trv application. I just said I was correcting the record in my LOE and it was an error. i don't think it's an issue to disclose now

Thank you for your answer Faky201. It was really helpful. I'll do the same

Kontagious:
I promised I’d be back with my experience.

This will be a long read but might be helpful particularly to those yet to take the IELTS. It’s my experience with mistakes I made, pointers here and there.

I'd start with Speaking. I was overtly tensed just a few seconds before we started, though my examiner had tried getting the correct pronunciation of my surname, I guess that little conversation should have relaxed me a bit but no, it didn’t. By the time he hit the record button on his recorded, my nerves were almost touching the ceiling that my first response, I began to stammer! I was to say south-west but all I heard me saying was south, sou, sou, south, south. Not exaggerating but I would have said the sou-south at least 6 times, eventually I got myself to say the south west grin. Examiner tried signaling me to calm down but I will not just follow the prompt. Oh I skipped, by the time I was handing over my passport during the ID check, guy asked can I see your ID please, in my tensed self, I said "thank you" like twice while passing the passport! Then I thought, oh boy, you don de fvck up. That thought alone aggravated my already tensed nerves.

Subsequent questions were a walk in the park (typical of part 1 questions) but I was still tensed. The questions were about family values. Then part 2 came, I was to talk about 2 person from same family, sub-questions were what they do, how similar they are and one other I can't remember. God, 1st family that came to mind was the Saraki's - Senate President and his father (how silly grin, I know) but I snapped out and rather talked about the Williams sisters! I had noted my points - great sportsmen, delight to watch, always delivering stellar performance - in the paper given but when I started speaking, I totally forgot to look at my note, only focused on the prompt. Nerves were still up but not as much as when I started – maybe at window level at this point and I doubt I spoke for a minute cause I rushed through the talk. I tried to continue but I could not just think of something meaningful to say.

Part three, I had answered some questions and was starting to gain control of my raging nerves but alas, I heard examiner saying “we’ve come to the end of the test”. End of kini, Arrrh. I honestly felt like begging the guy to retake the exam but it wouldn’t be possible. I walked out a little bit dejected and expected least score from speaking.

For my listening, prior to start of the test, I had noticed some static sound whenever there was a movement in front of me or me turning my head in a particular direction, so I thought, when the test starts I won’t move my head in that direction, also thought there shouldn’t be much movement during the test. I figured invigilators could move around and then I remember someone’s experience on this thread where he said the static sound made him miss answer to about three questions. Jejely, I requested to be moved, there was a makeshift row that was created for people having issues with their headphone. New seat was much better. Test started, answer one was name of a street spelt AC.CA.CIA. Right from question 1, my mind had started roaming, it wasn’t raging nerves this time around but wondering mind. So I battled to think, did I hear AC.CA.CIA or A.C.A.CIA. I was fortunate to snap out and picked answers to 2, 3, 4. In between 4 and 5, my mind wondered off again, did I hear AC.CA.CIA or A.C.A.CIA, unluckily for me, I missed answer to question 5. Further into the test, I’ll have to battle spelling. One answer was waitress, another length. For the waitress, I wasn’t sure if it had two ts or just one. For the length, I wasn’t sure if it was length or lenght, after I had spelt both and the wrong even looking correct at that point. I tried spelling strength as a pointer, still confused, I wasn’t sure of strength either so I eventually went with lenght. Then there was checklist, here I wasn’t sure if it’s a single word or compound or two words. To play safe, I figured check-list will be best. Naturally, all these spellings wouldn’t be a problem but under exam condition and considering at least 8 is needed in listening, my people, uhm.

Reading came, section one and two were a bit easy. Had about 8 questions with T, F, NG (this type of questions are the most dreaded for me but I stumbled on a YouTube video that worked for me during my numerous practices. I fought with one hunched back monster in section three. As expected, section three was the toughest and time consuming. Passage was two pages, questions were about 13. Turning back and forth between passage and question page was frustrating but it had to be endured. While answering section three, I jolted and remembered I had read about length of the monster, I scanned through if I’d see length. Luckily, it was in the passage. I had written the wrong spelling in my listening! Turning back the answer sheet is prohibited but I managed to turn and correct my length. grin

I started out the writing with task 1, it was to be written within a short time, lesser than 20 minutes but because I wanted a neat sheet, I wrote out my answer on the question paper to be transferred to the answer sheet after finishing, by the time I was done transferring (with little correction), 20 minutes was gone! I should have written directly on the answer sheet but it was a lesson to be learnt firsthand. I finished the essay on time and crossed checked, even did a rough word count. Both task were above required number, but my sweet people at BC will rather score me a 6.5

I hope future test takers pick one lesson or the other. As for me, the last of this test is yet to be heard.

This got me laughing out real hard. So hilarious.

Thanks for the good work you guys are doing here.

I have a small question please. I evaluated my OND and Bsc with WES and the summary reads "Canadian equivalency: Diploma (2 years) and Bachelors (4 years)". This OND I obtained before my BSc.

I have gone through this thread and especially through cochtrane's summaries (God bless for the wonderful work). I saw some previous people who also had OND before Bsc and it was evaluated the same. Also, I have learnt HND and OND is observed by WES to be 2 or more years. Even though the OND is obtained before the HND.

Now, here's my question: is it okay to use this to claim "two or more certificates"? According to the CIC website, I think they were talking about Post-graduate diploma, as opposed to OND. Yet on this site I saw a few posts where some people said they used it, I.e. OND before BSc and OND before HND.

Can anyone please clarify?

Hello, I actually don't know the right answer to your question but I just want to share a colleague's situation.

She submitted her application using BSc & ICAN as two or more certificates cos her ICAN was evaluated as 2yrs diploma.

Her application went through to the last stage (IP2) but was rejected on the basis that the two years diploma for ICAN does not qualify for two or more certificate option she selected in her application and that after taking the points for that out of her CRS score, it no longer meets the score of the draw she got ITA with.

My advise for you is that if your BSc only will fetch you a CRS score high enough for ITA, you can go ahead with either BSc or 2certs option. So even if your point is dropped for 2 certs, you will still be in good standing with your ITA draw score.

Wish you all the best in this canny journey.

Hi Hopefuls/Successfuls,

Am really happy to be following this thread and it has been marvelous all the way. Am intending to submit my wife's EE profile soon. I would just like to know answers to the following questions before i decide to:

1. Do i need a PCC for my wife who has cummulatively 177 days give or take in the US? I understand the rule is to get one if ur 180 days and over. Read somewhere that u shud do for over 3/4 months for foreign PCC. A friend abroad told me I dont need since my wifes stay isnt up to that and he also said "trust me, u dont want to be giving FBI ur details really if u dont have to". To me, the above rule is quite clear, 180 days and over, get a PCC. If not up to 180 days, u dont need it. whats ur own take or experience?

2. My wife is a lawyer and her 1st year worked in a legal firm. She took time off to have our baby and post-natal for about 8 months. Then she took up a flexible job selling insurance for an insurance firm (as the legal firms were not recruiting again due to recession and she didnt want to go back to her former firm coz she didnt really like the place). She still does some legal work for some client by the side and helps a senior lawyer out with some legal work from time to time. Shes entering EE as a lawyer which is what she read and practices. We doubt the insurance firm will give us reference.. Now, how would you advice we go about her work references?

Thanks

1. In my opinion, this is a function of your "risk appetite". I read about a similar case recently. The guy was rejected for not submitting PCC in respect of his wife's visit to the US which was also for 177 days (I think) but the "VO" erred in calculating it as 6 months.

The guy appealed (by raising CSE I think) and his application was successfully reopened. Will share once I get the link or screenshots.

It is hoped that IRCC agents would be more careful in future applications in view of this apparent goof.

2. Work experience gained within the last 10 years can be claimed. Can she get reference from her first employer? Can the "senior lawyer" that she helps out give her reference also? She can always fill "unemployed" for the gaps.

Hope this helps

No.
you input your details separately. Different
from the crs tool

gustalnov:

Okay I do that. I was thinking there is a place in the EE profile to select Two or more certificates. Is there not?
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by Bimpsy99: 6:44am On Aug 12, 2017
I would add that you put a LOE in the PCC section saying she stayed in the US from date to date making 177 hence below the six months rule and you don't need a PCC. That will tell the VO that you have thought true it and carefully reconfirm.

Fill the ones you want to claim points for when creating your EE profile and after getting an ITA, you will put the ones you are not claiming points for under the personal history section when filling your eAPR.

July 29 ielts LRSW: 7.5,9,8.5,7.5. I feel like running mad right now, one more correct answer in listening could have upped my score to 8 and my crs from 381 to a whooping 413. I had 9 in listening in my first ielts so maybe I was over confident.... I might apply for a remark sha tho I know chances are slim but I have time.

I think it's best your husband sends the balance to your account, cos when you add him to your application, CIC will request for an updated POF for 2... You can add an LOE stating he transferred the money to you to complete the POF.

Thank you very much boldinc. So my husband can send the money to my account and I only print my statement and write LOE about the transfer from him to me without having to attach my husband's statement because I don't want them to see the source being a lump sum from another party.

No, the reason why we mostly use bank statements is our inability to get bank letters in the exact format.

But I would recommend you include statements if available, perhaps to further strengthen the proof of funds.

Cheers

@bigfido i cant but comment on ur tenacity. It simply examplifies what this Canadian PR journey is all about. Ur post is an inspiration to all irrespective of our stages in Canadian PR process (either u are still thinking about applying or u have landed). My take from ur inspiring post is that this journey requires certain virtues/things & i will list some of them;

1-PATIENCE: At a stage in this application, u just have to be patient. For some it is at d IELTS stage, for some it is after AOR, for some it is even after PPR. While some people get PPR in 18days after AOR, unfortunately for some it is after 18 months. We just have to be patient.

2-TENACITY:U must be tenacious & never take no for an answer. Some will be rejected at IELTS stage, while for some it is Post-AOR, for some it will be by employers in Canada. U must not accept defeat for whatever reason. I had a guy in my AOR group whose application was rejected after passing medicals, he never gave up, he submitted a new application almost immediately after getting a new ITA, it was funny that he got PPR before 90% of us who didnt get our application rejected. What we are facing in the PR process is small compared to what most of us will face when we get to Canada.

3-DOING GOOD- Imagine u didnt reply Lere, who knows, dis testimony may have been delayed. U dont know on whose behalf d Lord will answer ur prayer. A lot of people have been helpful on this group, lets not be tired of doing good because at d right time we will reap d benefits not necessarily from d person u helped but d good u do always has a way of coming back to u. Some poeple's dream wont have come thru if not for this thread. If u have landed in Canada & u feel u cant help, remember this opportunity for Canadian PR was opened by people who didnt know if u even exist at all.Let us be our brother/sister's keeper.

4-DESTINY-Since we all have different names so are our paths. Some will write IELTS & pass it once but will not be able to raise d POF for 1 year, some will have tens of millions & good qualifications but IELTS will b dia hurdle, for some they will even have very fast timelines but dia application will go into security check & take months. Lets not always compare ourselves with others, u never know what they have gone thru or may be going thru.

I hope this lifts some1's spirit this morning.

bigfido:
For the dude that passed the ielts that is complaining bitterly, please be thankful to God.

I have written ielts 7 times. My journey started since 2015. My Wes has been ready since then, but because of age and ielts, I have been falling short. I wrote ielts and got moderate score. I didn't know what was required then, since then, it has been a battle for me. My last 3 scores were 8,7.5,7,6... 7.5,7.5,7.5,7... 7.5,8,7,7..after the 6th one in June, I swore I was done with this dream. I had sunk so much money into this. I have gone to dubai to write celpip, went to dubai again for new brunswick info session, spent money 2ice on SINP and all to no avail. I was frustrated and devastated. July, I told my spouse to let me try ielts one more time. Even thou she didn't want to see me hurt again, she let me have my way. As for her she was done. She wanted the dream closed and buried. I don't blame her. So I paid and decided to change venue, this time I went to Ibadan, meaning I was spending more again. Then something changed. I prayed a lot about it. For catholics amongst us, please pray the prayers for exams to St Joseph of Cupertino. I went into the hall, did my best and left. I couldn't even beat my chest about my performance. I have been humbled by Ielts. But I kept on praying. I am not going to fail the 7th time. In between that time, a stranger in Lere2017 on this platform came into my life. She needed something from me. I actually wasn't in the mood to talk to her (reply her pm) but I did. We got talking and I told her my story. She was touched and she also truly prayed for me seriously. She will send me messages almost everyday telling me how much I was in her prayers and letting me know all is well. Yesterday midnight was the most awkward time of my life.. From 12 am till 7 am this morning, I was refreshing ielts website to check my result. The fear and panic was too intense. When I didn't see anything, I decided to go to their office to pick up my result.. That drive was filled with swallowing stone like saliva. On the bridge, I decided to refresh it again.. My result was there. My soul left my body and my eyes became blurry. I didn't know what I was reading but I knew I was reading.. L-9, R-8,S-8,W-7

I felt water swell up in my eyes. I understood what it is to look for something within your grasp and yet not have it. I am still basking in this euphoria so I can't real explain my ordeals. So please if you have it on a platter of gold, don't come here to rub it in on people that are going through a lot of even have a slice of what you have. For me the journey starts soon. I now have 450 points. I pray we all get to the promise land. Thank you @lere2017 I appreciate you. That's the beauty of this thread. Goodluck to everyone. I apologise for the long post and misspellings
