PRESS STATEMENT

NIGERIAN MILITARY REASSURES THE UNITED NATIONS AGENCIES OPERATING IN THE NORTH EAST OF CONTINUOUS SUPPORT

The Nigerian Military’s attention has been drawn to some negative rumour against the United Nations Agencies operations in the North East following our cordon and search operations in Pompomari Byepass of Maiduguri. The operation was never intended to undermine the integrity of the UN or any other humanitarian agencies that have been working tirelessly to alleviate the plight of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and other vulnerable group in the North East.

It is pertinent to state that one of the mandate’s of the Nigerian Military in the North East theatre of operation is to provide security and support to the UN and other humanitarian agencies in the discharge of their duties. Indeed, their roles have been complementing the efforts of the Federal Government in the restoring normalcy in the region.

Following the incident of 10 August 2017, mechanisms have been put in place to ensure that the incident that led to the peddling of misleading information in the social media does not occur again. The Nigerian military therefore wishes to reassure the UN agencies in the North East of their safety at all times. We will continue to provide all necessary support and the conducive environment for the discharge of their humanitarian activities.
You are please requested to disseminate the information to the general public.

Thank God for the decimation of Boko Haram. Kudos to the president, and the whole armed forces. This is what we've reduced Shekau to. From having 4 Armoured vehicles behind him, to having an Okada. Kukasheka doesnt need to update us. Shekau already did. His 40 days remains 23 days or so. We're getting there.

Hehehe he’s finally back in shape, I remember when he was critically injured by a NaF air strike and he suddenly forgot how to start in propaganda videos. He was relegated to releasing audio tapes.

For anyone who wants to see it, the full thing is on YouTube (Sahara Reporters page).... 36 long minutes of crazy talk.

Nop america and NATO allies should be held responsible.

Agreed gadaffi has being there for long yet there economy was booming far better than most democratic countries in Africa.

They just wanted him out and they look for a way of accusing him of what is not. They ruined Libya and they left them in shatter's.
When NATO and her allies moved in on Libya, I could still recall they were not allowed boots on ground, my question is; who are the boots on ground that captured gaddafi enroute his birthplace Sirte? who were the boots on ground that killed former Ambassador chris stevens?
out of curiosity, Are they by any chance Libya people?
Do you sincerely think that any rogue nation (in western parlance) ,Russia, NK , Iran or china can arm any group in the United states or any other NATO country?
Why will US citizens refuse to pick up arms (not even from gun shops) despite their hatred for Trump unlike the Libyans? Please he who destroys his country is to blame not the man who wanted to dispose his arms for profit or any other clandestine interest, make no mistakes about that.

You are right there where no NATO boots on Libyan soil. But there are few questions we should ask; who supplied the rebels with weapon's they used in overthrowing gadaffi , the air support NATO gave: (especially French rafale jets) and the hell fire missile that was fired at gafaffi's convoy when he was trying to escape.

They should have left them alone, now Libyan armed forces weapons are all over conflicts area in Africa and Asia.
