The Lekki protest spearheaded by Lekki Resident Association has no counter protest group. Barrister Ebun Adegoruwa was involved, he also took Lagos State to court while Kate Henshaw (actress) was on Channels TV to clarify the stand of the Lekki estate residents. Lagos State never sponsored any group because it was the only party interested in the toll collection.
Staffs of LCC were also there.

The rallies in Lagos (economic capital of West Africa) both the famous Save Nigeria Group convened by Tunde Bakare in 2011 & the Fuel Price hike of 2012 were quite different from this Anti Buhari rally. The other rallies paralysed economic activities in Nigeria which indirectly affected many West African countries to the concern of International Communities. These rallies involved Labour Unions.

In this case, Buhari sent letter to NA informing them he was leaving to seek medical attention. An Acting President is in place constitutionally. No section of the constitution determines how long a person can be sick before his appointment is terminated. Also, you cannot force a person to resume work while he is sick. The SNG rally was because there was no president, no acting president. I think this rally may be a protest that the acting president is not performing or they want to know if the president is alive. We need to know.

The first time I heard of Pro government protesters attacking anti government protesters was during GEJ. During the Oduah Gate scandal, Dino Melaye led Anti corruption network group in a protest rally, another pro government group came and attacked them, police also arrested Dino while his group was attacked. Dino is now a Senator I know he can never forget the incident. Later in the government, there was always pro government group attacking any anti government rally. It happened several times in Abuja, OPC held Lagos hostage for hours for Jonathan before election. They damaged so many things.


I condemn the attack on Charlie Boy. It is uncivilised & barbaric but it is also a warning to Kanu to forget his visit to Kaduna. Nobody seem to recall Buhari saying those words back in 2010, suddenly 2017 we are told he said it. where is the link? where is the video clip?

Even if it turns out that he did say them words he was most likely offering a solution because when Yaradua was hospitalised he hadn't handed over to an Acting President so the only logical solution would be for him to be impeached or resign.

Niger Delta pro-Buhari supporters
About 600 Niger-Delta Youths carrying various placards supporting President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday took over the Unity Fountain, Abuja after Charly Boy and his group ended their sit out protest against the president at the same venue.

The Niger Delta youths said no matter how many protesters swarm the nation’s capital, Abuja to protest against President Muhammdu Buhari in a bid to force him to resign, such protest does not hold water because his health challenges has not breached any legal or constitutional matter.

The youths carried all sorts of banners with various inscriptions like “Niger Delta youths in support of President Muhammadu Buhari”, “Niger Delta, PMB we know”, “Leave PMB alone”, ‘sickness is not a crime” and “Buhari is only sick not corrupt.”

The youths submitted that it was understandable that the absence of the President is a cause of concern to people, they however added that the constitution does not punish anyone for being sick.

Articulating the position of the protesters, the Convener, Chief Michael Johnny, while addressing journalists stressed that there was no requirement for the removal of the President because he was sick, no matter the length of time.

Johnny said: “Granted that the absence of the President due to ill health is a cause for concern. To every well-meaning Nigerians the concern is that he should regain his good health speedily. Beyond that, I see no other issue, legal or constitutional, which his health engages.

”Our constitution does not punish anyone (and for that matter, the President) for being sick. Indeed, there is no requirement that a President should either be removed from office or himself be required to voluntarily resign from office because he is sick. No matter the length of the sickness.

The Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, later arrived to address the pro-Buhari youths.

Adesina’s meeting with the protesters at the 3 Arms Zone Abuja is coming a day after Charly Boy and his group under the aegis of Concerned Nigerians were attacked by an angry crowd at Wuse Market also in Abuja.

That is the recurrent mistake you igbos make. Abuja is geograhically located in the North so it belongs to the Hausa. It is just the same way Lagos belongs to the Yoruba. The igbos need to understand that Nigeria is only united on paper and in the minds of the rapacious elites. The igbos need to invest more in the east and forget the fact that they would be considered as indigenes on foreign soil. The think home policy must be imbibed and entrenched in the heart of every igbo.
