A confused character...not clear at all. A guy that acts that way is most likely gay. He is not just effeminate, everything about his mannerisms screams GAY!!!

The idea of having a job became mainstream during the industrial revolution in the 19th century. Before the industrial revolution, our forefathers were all entrepreneurs. Most of us are either first or second generation university graduates. Our grandfathers owned and run small businesses, be it farming, fishing, what have you. Starting a business was one of the rites of passage into adulthood. It is something you just do without much thought. Your business was an expression of who you are and what you came to do.

Now starting a business has become a scary proposition to most of us. We have become addicted to working for money, and kicking the addiction can be a much tougher proposition than going off alcohol or drugs. Current realities show that the go to school, get good grades and look for a good safe secure job model is no longer sustainable. There are simply not enough jobs available to go round. More graduates are churned out than the market place can absorb. Unemployment is rising. The global financial meltdown has taken in its wake, millions of jobs worldwide. Most of the holders of these jobs had only one stream of income, hence losing that single stream became a catastrophic event, leading to some suicide cases. The world is in dire need of entrepreneurs, Nigeria so much so, as currently it is estimated that every employed Nigerian is carrying on his shoulders a platoon of 6 Dependants; jobless friends and family looking for hand outs.

A few years ago, the average Nigerian graduate dreamt of getting a job in the bank, if they could not get into the telecoms or oil and gas sector. Bank jobs are no longer secure. Their employers, rather than cut jobs in a straight forward manner are setting all manner of bizarre targets, using that as a guise to downsize. Those left standing are now in panic mode, frantically looking at developing other streams of income. The current reality is that job security is a myth, no matter the industry you belong.

Starting a business is not about just making money, no matter how dire your financial situation or shaky your job. It is about solving a problem, giving service, adding value and making the life of others better. By its very nature, a business is a platform for you to give of yourself. It is a vehicle and a springboard to fulfill purpose. Anybody can travel to Dubai to buy and sell or join Forever Living Products (there is nothing wrong with retailing if that is your forte). Anybody can be mediocre and blend with the crowd. To stand out and ultimately play in the big league, you have to excel. You have to make a difference.
