Osun Govt Declares Monday August 21 Isese Day by jr4u2(op): 10:36am On Aug 18, 2017
The State Government of Osun has declared Monday, August 21 as public holiday to commemorate the annual Isese Day.

Isese Day is a public holiday set aside for traditional believers in the state by the Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s administration.

The holiday is in recognition of the annual Isese Day, which allows the adherents of traditional religion to come together for the annual celebration.

Also know as Traditional Worshipers Day, Isese Day is the celebration of the peak of festivities among adherents of traditional religion.

The government enjoined all the traditional believers to celebrate the Isese day in peace and avoid any act capable of breaching the peace of the state.

Signed
Adelani Baderinwa
Commissioner for Information and Strategy
State of Osun

Traditional worshipers in lagos have been asking for same which i'm praying they don't get. If we have less traditional worshipers the killing of human for rituals which is now the order of the day will reduce. Giving them holiday will end up increasing their number.

But that does not change the fact that sheeding of blood(man or animal) is a recognised aspect of traditional religion, so alfas and pastors doing same must have learnt it from them, and they too are traditional worshipers who are just using christianity or islamic religion as cover up

Nice development from the governor

We should preserve our history

We may not be interested in traditional religion but we must keep and promote the culture behind the religion.

We celebrate western religion like Islam and Christianity not knowing those religion has a culture underneath

Coming with my camera to the festival to document our old and ancient culture.

All the blood that had been and are still being shed by the religious crises between christians and muslims can never be compared with the sporadic blood shed by the traditionalists

Bro you are getting it wrong

Go to countries that have Islam and Christianity they have kill more humans.

There are always bad people everywhere

That does not mean we should kill our ancient tradition note it also comes with culture

Saudi Arabia and Israel is making more money from the culture behind islam and Christianity.
