You guys just use the social media to spill rubbish on people who are better informed than you. Lectures in public schools are the most selfish people I've ever seen. Most of them are better remunerated than their private counterparts compared to the quality and and quantity of work required of them.
When schools increase school fees at will they act numb
when their colleagues harass students unjustly to their knowledge they act numb
when lectures extort students they act numb
when the lecture bullshit and set unrealistic question they act numb
when the see students poor hostel facilities and unbearable lecture conditions they act numb
But when it comes to their allowances and other incentives, they begin to show their self at the detriment of the students.

The Nigeria educational system is in shambles, graduate are unemployable not because the students cannot measure up to task; but because the school management have failed to realise that the students and not the lectures are the most important factor in education. They think it's all about them....[s]

It is regrettably pugnacious. I have observed, in the office of a scholar, that here in Nigeria education is being played as a second fiddle. Try and take the statistics pertaining to education in the developed countries of the world such as USA , England, Japan, e.t.c. you will observe that the education sector is not taken for granted. You don't need to be to tertiary institution to know that education is an algorithm to the backbone of any nation that aspires to develop. Nigeria claim to emulate American style of governance, right? Then, why isn't it(Nigeria) emulating its(American) style of education? I think it's because they can easily divert and misappropriate peoples fund meant for projects. Thus, we see trillions of USD being looted and the judiciary is there applying game theory in deceiving us. But, the funniest part is that the people some what myopic because of selfishness...when you're offered two thousand naira by the so-called politician, you grab it and trade your future with it. We suffer today cos our future was traded by our few generations in the past. But we can still make corrections. Considering the meager amount the government does not want pay ASUU, you will see that this so-called government wants to trade the future of this present youth. What is one trillion NAIRA to invest in academia compare to our money, folds of trillions of USD being looted every tenure? I believe that this country's academia is going nowhere if the government cannot afford to mete out one trillion USD for every tenure for education sector. Think of good labs(well equipped), good class rooms, good teachers, good school infrastructures(including good security measures). When we have all these things, then, we will have our students good(well educated). Only about 1trillon+ is difficult for our gov. to put in education but between 2010 and 2015 over 7trillion got missed only in Nigeria Port Authority. It is a shame. Our government fail us. And students that are supposed to be in schools are at home. May God revamp us. Amen.

“And when the universities teachers see that the agreement reached with the doctors is different from theirs, they again go on strike and this is bad for our economy,” he added
.

The above really sums up the unending circle of ASUU and health workers strike. Health workers and university lecturers are the highest paid civil servants in Nigeria but they are the greediest. No matter what you offer them, they will always behave like Oliver twist and ask for more.

I wish the government well as they go about negotiating with ASUU but I will advice them not to be stampeded into making stupid concessions that can't be implemented. Irresponsible demands such as exemption of universities from TSA and federal government funding staff schools should never be granted.

And APC and Buhari's zombies are shouting that it was GEJ's regime.

The demands were made in 2002 in Obasanjo's regime which ASUU went on strikes.

It was the statement of Chief Obasanjo when he was the president that triggered the pen and the paper of this agreement in 2005 before ASUU called off the strikes.

The current Acting President prof Osinbanjo was the member of ASUU in this country. He is one the ASUU's strikes beneficiaries.

Obj isnt my Man ,but He just said the truth. The ASUU agreement gave rise to another agreement with Doctors

“The universities teachers go on strike, there is an agreement; doctors go on strike, there will be a special agreement.

“And when the universities teachers see that the agreement reached with the doctors is different from theirs, they again go on strike and this is bad for our economy,”

Re: ASUU Strike: How Nigerian Government Got It Wrong – Obasanjo by emmasege: 1:36pm On Aug 18, 2017
OBJ partly made sense here. One of such stupid agreements was pegging the retirement age of professors at 70 when there are millions of Nigerian graduates and higher degrees holders are jobless. The funny thing is that the knowledge of most of those professors in their own fields has become obsolete and yet, they won't gracefully bow out of the system.

Obasanjo is an hypocrite.

Under his watch, ASUU went on strike for 7 Months while that Borishade was Minister of Education.
Allow the soul of our hero Borisade to rest in peace. Why mentioning his name again?. Hypocrite.
