i cant seem to understand why these LATAMA guys are using the term "discovered an obstruction"?
what happened to preliminary reconaissance? and route investigation?
which engineer selected the route map for the project? that person needs some querying.

Reading shouldn't be that hard. The initial route was supposedto pass through the existing Iddo Railway Terminus and line. I.e from National theatre through Ijora Causeway then ido and unto Marina passing the the front of UBA headquarters.

The FG as at then in their usual senseless manner denied them the right to use that right of way thus making them link it directly through Apongbon. And still yet there's this Federal ministry yard there that i doubt they have gotten approval for thus stalling the project there. You could see that they abruptly stopped constructing pliers there before the main bridge and moved on to the Marina axis to continue construction.

You can plan and do your home work but if you have an archaic Land Use Act like that of Nigeria you would understand that even building a 1km road that shouldn't take you more than 6 months would take 10years with the useless bureaucracy at the top and needless politics in play and same applies in the power sector.

Funny enough we aren't doing anything to dismantle such laws and give more automony to State Governments so they can achieve their aims.

Ikorodu -yaba route
Redemption camp - Ojota route
would have made more sense for a start and, probably without needing to build elevated platforms

The cumbersome myriads obstructions on the right of way have been bedevilling the smooth take off of the project,

They initially proved insurmountable, but seems hope is restored,
They are currently at the site where a bridge is meant to link marina and the mainland,

I guess it was at this instant juncture, they approached the remnants of wreckage, underwater gas pipeline line,

These shots were taken couple of months back, they must have cleared the debris, relocated the pipes, and currently working on the prebasement/carriage superstructure, piling etc, before casting begins,

The works show there is commitment to meet this new deadline.
This why we must automate our geo reference data bank. The technologies are there, govt. should invest in people. GPS, GIS. Of what use is the satellite launched sometimes ago. What about geo refence data captured by those satellite.
I am critically doubting the quality physical planning that has been done on this project if basic base line data are not available.
We are good at construction without planning in Nigeria. God helps us.

The federal and state government were just aligned in 2015; prior to that, the project had already been considerably altered. This was a project that should have been delivered by 2013.

Also having same party at the top doesn't always mean progress would be made. There is this ego and stumbling block as regards development and this ain't helped by our black man mentality. Just an example, there had to be an uproar and public backlash before the Lagos Airport road from Oshodi was conceded to the Lagos State government in 2017. Even as at then, FG (Ferma)wanted to show they were working and still went on patching non existent portholes around 7/8 axis even after the concession; thus causing an uneven texture on the road surface. These are publicly available facts and not heresay.

Just go to CMS and see derelict FG buildings that should be pulled down to build something meaningful. Is it the litany of useless army and police barracks that should be moved to the hinterlands we have all over Lagos chugging up space that should be used for building new infrastructure? There's something inherently wrong with the structure of the country as regards Land Use and the only person that tried working on it was Yaradau. May his soul rest in peace.

Perfect observation sentiments is all they know. Unless it's in bold and highlighted they will miss it. The headline where they will stop and start at.

Why didn't they do a proper charting of the route before commencing work?
