Last week a topic graced the front page of Nairaland forum saying that the Lagos Blue Light Rail in its final phase. One can't but laugh at such assumption as the claims of the author is far from the truth. The Lagos Blue Light Rail was the brainchild of Lagos State Government, it was started during the administration of the former governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, during his era, he tried to make sure that the project sees the light of the day but due to some logistics problems, he can't commission it. The Lagos Blue Light Rail was funded by the World Bank with little input from the state coffers according to our reports.

Going by the analysis on the work done so far, the project was contracted to CCECC Nigeria Limited. The project according to LAMTA is said to start from Mile 2 and run across Okokomaiko, Orile, National Theatre, Iganmu, and then have a final stopover at CMS.

As at March 2018 when AutoReportNG did an exclusive review of the Light Rail from Iganmu to CMS, we reported that the pace of work has been very slow with little or nothing on ground as the workers complained of not been paid and some of the workers laid off. AutoReportNG was at CMS over the weekend and we decided to take a troll towards the site of this project as we can clearly say only little has changed.

The only thing that we can say is different is the laying of the overhead slabs which starts from CMS bus stop towards Apogbon, apart from that, no work or tangible construction as even the pillars that are meant to pass through the lagoon from Eko Bridge, we are disappointed to see that from March 20818 only 3-4 pillars have been erected so far across the sea which leaves one to wonder if this project is nearly completed as wildly reported.

We are unable to get the full pictures and those from the Eko Bridge as we are running out of time but these are ones we are able to gather at the site and also we add some from our previous report as well to make it look robust.

I pity those that praise sing Lagos State Govt with all this pictures. One need to go close and see that in the next ten years this project can never see fruition.
The rate of traffic around this areas towards Agbara can make one die untimely. U be in a car and see a woman with a baby at her back selling finger battery and one begin to wonder how she will eventually eat for that day.
Lagos under Tinubu is still slavery and please this sudden afternoon pictures should be ignored as those areas are death traps. By this time, people are trekking like Fulani herdsmen and their cows.

Some people didn't bother to read the report before posting.

They just want to either condemn or praise the government without much knowledge of anything whatsoever.

Anyways, I am extremely disappointed about this light rail project, I read somewhere last week that the government has granted concessions to foreign companies and it will be fully operational by 2023.
