changing DOB.
Pry cert carries 1985
WAEC carries 1987
Degree, you filled 1987
you can not serve but you were given Exemption letter (this indicates you are above 30)
Age declearation carries 1990.
Hunmmm.

If it does not affect you now but may affect you in future. Pls leave it like and it is not compulsory you serve since you will get an exemption certificate which is same as the normal one. Don't do it.

If you really want to do NYSC, then you can still be admitted even if you are above 30 years. When I served I met a people that were clearly over 30 years in camp.

But if you don't want to do NYSC, then just get an exemption letter.

hi my fellow nairalander,i am currently in college of education now but have a goal of serving(NYSC) after my degree,by then i will be almost 30 in which is the maximum age for service, and i will not be eligible to go because of age.
so now i am planning to change my age, write another olevel exam, get another birth certificate and probably another jamb.
the question now is that will it not affect the certificate i will be given in college of education in case i want to combine the both I.e N.C.E and B.S.C in the near future to work?

you can still go to service at the age of 30.

Do you have to write another WAEC? What do you have in your school file, birth certificate by a hospital or NPC, declaration of age ? If it's a birth certificate, replace it with a declaration of age carrying your desired age. If it's declaration of age that's there, replace it with a new one.
Those in charge of files in your school should help you do this.
Are you using your original WAEC certificate? It carries your real age when you took your WAEC with your actual age, avoid it and use your statement of results; presenting original WAEC certificate will expose your falsified age. The system is discriminating against those with discharge certificate.

This is corruption, you should know it's wrong.

Corruption!! people no longer have shame indulging in corruption, chai,! He even has de guts to come here to ask us in the best way to undertake his corrupt ideas. Yet he wants our aged President to retire. Smh, Change should begin with you. There are better ways to serve the country aside the scam scheme called nysc, so don't use that as an excuse

....

You really need to change your age but not because of Nysc but because most employers don't like to employ individuals 30 and above with zero work experience some don't even employ 28 and above.

Except you plan to be an entrepreneur/business man change that age.
i think in his chosen field the older the better. i believe he said he is in college of education so he wants to be a teacher. as a teacher the older you are the more chances of employment. the younger you are the less chance

Truth is that what the op is about to do is what many of the posters here are guilty of, and look at them sounding so sanctimonious. Show me any of you who uses their real age in their WAEC.

Op, since you're studying a professional course {i.e education}, i'll advise you to continue with your real age, get an exemption letter and forget NYSC. What's more important is you getting a job and being a professional{teacher}, age should not really be a barrier in getting a job. Unless you plan to depart from education and do a B.Sc instead of B.Ed, and then start applying to such organizations as banks for Graduate trainee jobs. That's only when you should worry about age.

You can still serve according to the NYSC law on age provided you graduate before your 30th birthday.

To think that this is supposed to be next generation of Africans leaves a lot to be desired.
What will you do to your primary school certificate? What if someone that went to primary/secondary school with you happens to be your opponent later in life, what will be your defence when they present concrete evidence that proves that you cheated on age?
Again, there seems to be no hope for this country. It gets worse with each generation.

instead change your date of birth when registering for jamb, nysc uses jamb database to mobilize corp members and not waec, you can use age declaration to support your waec.
for people blaming you, its not your fault, the system has failed already, 95% of employers want employees of not less than 25yrs with at least 3years of experience, the hustle is real o, man must survive.

Bro (@op), if you think forging your age is necessary, do go ahead and do it. After all, even Buhari is not using his real age.

Dear person,

What ever is ment to be will be, if u work hard at it and pray.
Presently, I regret haven done what u are about to do now, have you asked yourself how you would feel about it in 10yrs time when you look back?
Age, NYSC cert, even the NYSC experience will defininately not stop sky from being your limit/beginning as the case maybe.
Pls, let it go. People go to the end of the world to dig up other peoples dirt. It will comeback to hurt you.
DONT LIMIT YOURSELF BY YOURSELF.

Just go to waec office and ask for back-date form.no need for new exam or new certificate, it can easy be done @waec office.

If you really need to have a new age, then be ready to start from scratch.

It's in your best interest that all your certificates have uniform date of birth and other details...

How will you explain to a prospective employer that you acquired your NCE before you acquired your WASSC... or how your college of education details show you were born in 1989 while your later certificates show you were born in 1995.huh

As per the guy who is advising the OP to get a discharge certificate... OP, please don't mind him.. he doesn't fully understand what you are talking about... I guess he just commented based on the first paragraph of your comment smiley
thanks bro

Question is, why do you want to start life based on lies? It won't end well and there would be too many lies required to cover for this age ones.

Remember, one never knows tomorrow, and what it entails. Your classmates aren't all gonna change ages too and your Captain / Prefect would remember your age.

Don't be another Dino!

I'll advise you to do B.Ed than B.Sc computer science. Your chances of getting employed are higher with B.Ed.
