I have always admired great and talented individuals, but I give special honour to dignitaries that have impacted the world through there critical thinking and analytical way of strategising ideas (Engr. Sebastine Chinonye Omeh – Nigeria’s Michael Faraday).

I would like to welcome you to the Technological aspect of our blog @9jahotstars and today we are celebrating Nigeria’s own Michael Faraday Engr. Sebastine Chinonye Omeh , the Managing Director/CEO of Hybrid Micro Machines Products Limited. He studied Electrical/electronic Engineering graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

Engr Omeh stands tall today as the pioneer Wind Energy Expert and Inventor in Nigeria. He is also talented and full of innovative ideas. Hybrid Micro Machines Products Limited – the brainchild of this genius is a Company specialized in modern broadcast and power engineering systems designs, constructions and maintenance services. The Company has built, reactivated, upgraded/serviced/maintained several broadcast/communication installations and power facilities for over 40 Organizations, with Government establishments, the military and reputable private Organisations as Clients, plus numerous Consultancy Services. Engr Omeh, who, on graduation, simply chose to venture into self-employment, based on perfect knowledge of his field of study, eventually persevered through an extensive research, culminating in the re-invention of Wind Energy – a potential source of clean energy generated without the hazardous carbon emissions. By this feat, Engr Omeh, already with numerous Awards, Honors, Endorsements and Appointments in his kitty, was, at a recent engineering workshop in Enugu, declared the Michael Faraday of Nigeria.

Engr. Sebastine Chinonye Omeh , started from grass and now he his leading Nigeria into the future with wonderful designs, analysis and critical structures.

But the question now is why are will still depending on the invention of neighbours to better our own house? Hope you understand what I mean? Engr. Mr Okafor has over 23 years of oilfield exploration and production experience in a variety of technical, operational and management roles. He started his career with Schlumberger as a Formation Evaluation Logging Engineer in Angola, moving on to become a Managing Director for Dowell Schlumberger Nigeria Limited. He was also the Manager for Sand Management West Africa down to Angola in same period. He left Schlumberger and formed his own oilfield service company which he ran as the CEO, until he joined Shebah Exploration and Production Company Limited in October 2013.
Mr Okafor has an Electronic Engineering degree from University of Nigeria Nsukka.

Radio Astronomy, did he teach in Cambridge, was not good enough to teach at Cambridge, Did he teach at MIT, was not good enough, but he taught at Nnsukka, a third rate university in Nigeria, when he could not cope in Ibadan.Please dude plus he did not even set up any first department even in his field.


Samuel obtained a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc) from the University of London and a doctorate degree (PhD) in Radio Astronomy from Churchill College, Cambridge in the
United Kingdom , making him the first black African to obtain a doctorate in Radio Astronomy.
Samuel was a fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science as well as the Royal Astronomical Society of the United Kingdom. He was a member of the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs . He was a member of the New York Academy of Sciences ,
International Network of Engineers and Scientists for Global Responsibility and the
International Astronomical Union .


He started teaching Physics at the University of Ibadan in 1965 and later transferred to the
University of Nigeria , Nsukka (UNN)just before the outbreak of the Nigerian civil war . He was elevated to a professorship in physics in 1976. Between 1978 and 1989,Professor Okoye was appointed the Director, Division of General Studies, Head Department of Physics and Astronomy; Associate Dean and later Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences, all at the University of Nigeria.He was elected as Dean of the School of Post Graduate Studies in 1987. Professor Okoye also acted during the summer of 1978 as Vice Chancellor of UNN.

To mark Stephen Hawking’s stepping down as Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at Cambridge University, contractually required at age 67, I thought it might be worthwhile to compile a list of the world’s most well-known living scientists.

One might ask whether it’s proper for scientists to assume high profiles because so much of modern science is a team effort. However, given the example of Carl Sagan, I believe it’s important for some scientists to have prominent role in public life, and to be effective spokespersons for rational thought.
So on Thursday I reached out to my followers on Twitter, and they and their friends responded in droves. (See a complete list below). They helped me round out the list. I found that once I got past the first two names on my list it was really difficult to pick the last three.

My criteria were simple: to receive consideration a person had to be scientist who conducted scientific research. Doctors who were purely physicians did not count. They were measured largely upon name recognition. Please remember, this is just one man’s list.
