One of the many reasons Igbos hate Buhari is that, as a military man, he toppled the government of Dee Sam Mbakwe, the then democratic governor of old Imo state. The only government and governor in Nigeria that ever got it right.

A few of Mbakwe's achievement include

1. There was passion and great love for the people he was leading and the so much loved him back
2. He built Imo airport and people contributed willingly for his project
3. Imo state University
4. Ada palm plantation, the then largest palm plantation in Nigeria
5. Golden guinea industries Umuahia
6 Avutu farms
7 Ceramic industries Mbaise
8. He started regional water scheme and almost all homes including villages had access to clean safe water

9. He built about 40 feet underground water drainage in Owerri, and that is why the old Owerri city almost never floods, except of recent when the draining gutters are being blocked. Before Buhari removed him in 1983, he started and advanced the same project in Aba. THat project is not completed that's why Aba floods till date. Ikpezu came in and when those 40feet underground drainage was shown to him, he was shocked at the cost that would have taken in those days. He still hasn't done any further on this project

10. Most of the major roads he constructed in Imo and Abia are still intact till today, roads like Wetheral road Owerri, Okigwe road, Aba, Aba-Owerri road, Aba, and many others too numerous to mention

11. He built Imo concord hotel, still a tourist attraction till today.

12. He created new Owerri, the most beautiful and expensive part of Owerri today
13. He went to a great extent with rural electrification project in the old Imo state.

14. Often touted as the crying governor, he was once cried when visited by Shehu Shagari, that there's no money to work for the state.

15. Till hia death in the late 90s, he was a never a rich man, he was like any other normal civil servant, but he was greatly revered and still honoured till today.

16. When next Rochas makes noise, please tell him to list his achievements apart from scam. This is why you can't deceive Imo people because they have tasted good governance and know what it looks like.

17. My prayer is that God will forever bless the generation of Dee Sam Mbakwe.

N.B, these achievements are only a few I can remember, please those with a comprehensive list should post it here. Mbakwe to me is the best leader that has ever lived in Nigeria
