Tire= A state of getting tired

You should at least know the difference as a graduate that you are!

You see yourself?

Does Nigeria use American or British Grammar?

Also check your dictionary about the word "tire"!!

Tire, tiring, tired. Please don't always rely on google for correction, that was why you went to school and did English for almost half your age in school.

I wonder why Africans don't like corrections!!!

Suit yourself Sir?

Anyone you use is ok, even in Nigerian schools any would be marked right for you, help the op answer his question and dont crucify him for the wrong grammar, English isnt his/her mother tongue.

Nop!!

He is going for an interview... So he needs to be at his best.

There is no room for explanations during interviews. Once he write "Tire" instead of "Tyre" as a Nigerian, he is gonna be marked Bad!!

No room for explanations!! I already contributed my own quota to his success!!

Good day

I dont know whether there is a tire manufacturing plant in Nigeria here, but if you were asked research on tire, then you will start all the way from the rubber tree which secrets liquid (rubber) used in the tire manufacturing process, a quick search will let you know what it looks like and you can research on where to get the trees from (i saw a palntation at IAR&T in ijebu)

Then you move onto solidification, modification, casting other chemical additions to make tire hard etc etc. Then testing phase, how to identified a good tire and how to make different tire specifications. They dont expect you to know all, but talk about the basics, that will be good enough for them.

First, you said it's wrong. You were called out and you quickly parked the bus _ brought up the BrE/AmE argument.

My brother, you never knew it was right, let alone being AmE. Learn to take corrections, you'll be needing it too.

OP, you should know basics of tyre production. What role are you being interviewed for? Read about the company.

I want to use this medium to appreciate everyone for their contribution. Those who criticize my choice of word it is noted and those who defended me, I thank you all. But the essence of my post is not to stern heated argument amongst my fellow nairalanders. Relating to the role I applied, its for the position of sales representative. Thanks once again I really appreciate.
