First dog and baboons soaked in blood. Then hyenas and jackals leaving the kingdom. Today it's rats in the presidents office. |

no just Nigeria. but Africa as a whole. Trust me, the problem with Africa is that with every African culture (with the exception of Botswana) is that people are very much for themselves. Throughout western & eastern history, there are many examples of people who work for the greater good. Unfortunately, in Africa they do not have many of those types of heroes. People often attribute the infighting to tribalism, which in part is true. But for the most part, the infighting is motivated by self interests. People seek power for wealth, not for the greater good. The masses seldom stand up to the dictators and when they do they are often not supported by the rest of the world; example: Zimbabwe. An example of self interested governments. In 2008, Zimbabwe was suffering through famine. There were some farms producing food but not nearly enough to feed the nation. All grain in Zimbabwe MUST be sold to the government run Agriculture department. Instead of using this food to feed the people, they sold this food internationally and told the people that the World food programme would feed them instead. They force people to mine diamond mines to enrich the elite. They nationalised farms 'for the people' but gave the farms to connected families to enrich themselves further. The reason the west doesn't go into Africa and sort them out is because there are millions of African people who can be easily convinced to fight any foreign power out of fear of being colonized and oppressed by Europeans all over again. Throw religion (both christian and islam) into the mix and it is very hard to convince these people that we want to help, not oppress. |
