Nonaira1:See this one spewing emotional trash….. I gave you facts you are here yearning dust, you guys did not even meet the 99% indigenous language content before DSTV pitied igbo by dedicating a channel to them. Next time give me facts not emotions ![]() |
| Re: b by julietm123: 4:40pm On Aug 26, 2017 |
Dstv pitied Igbos indeed mtcheeew. 99%of Nollywood is igbo content that was why there was no igbo channel initially except you want to lie to yourself. Ask biola alabi who fought against Igbos channel the thing be. CrtlAltDel: |

Nonaira1:And the story continue.. ![]() All these long episode with no prove nor facts to counter the the facts he provided? What is all these for, for crying out loud you failed to prove the dude wrong. Dominate in what area exactly, numbers of ibo actresses or actors? Dude, nollywood is just a title ibo gave nigeria movie industry heck that doesn't mean it belongs to ibo except you want to talk about nollywood of old with ibotic accent and title " baba nkena goes to enugu ". Things have changed abeg, infact nollywood big producers and movie makers are yorubas and SS people. Facts ![]() |
| Re: b by Nonaira1: 4:48pm On Aug 26, 2017 |
CrtlAltDel:You truly a complete illiterate and it's a shame you don't even know it. You gave facts on indigienous language movie industry which is NOT Nollywood. Nollywood is NOT the indigienous language movie industry. It's the English speaking industry you buffoon. The tribal language has there own name which is Kannywood for hausa speaking industry to igbowood which is igbo speaking industry that just started. Your pathetic Afonja tribe is the only tribe that attached it's irrelevant tribal language movie industry to Nollywood in other to stay relevant Like I said a pick on any movie in the 90s, early 2000s till date end credits actually make you look no more like an idiot. Even a blind goat can tell your reaching hard desperately. |

julietm123:Stop the lies abeg. When you talk about contents we talk about producers, stake holders and directors among others. Can you prove the so called " 99% ibo contents as today where nollywood stands? ![]() |

julietm123:If i hear…. Kikikikiki… 99% wetin, did you not see igbo = 1%… ..Na wah so I have been wasting my time with this mofo or you cant comprehend. Are you blind or you chose to ignore this A film should be about 99 per cent Yoruba, Hausa, or Igbo language in order to be considered a local language film. The survey‘s breakdown indicates that the figure is made up of Yoruba, 31 per cent; Hausa, 24 per cent; Igbo 1 per centOr igbo now speak Hausa and Yoruba in igbo films….. Ok, convince me by giving me facts or even 1 link to shame me |
| Re: b by Nonaira1: 4:58pm On Aug 26, 2017 |
totit:Tell that to your Afonja brethren. I still watch Nollywood movies so take your story to the gods. Heck last i checked few years ago one of your wannabe actress sister, Rukky Sanda, was crying about how directors and producers discriminate against because she's yoruba, not igbo. Please go and inform her that "nollywood big producer are yoruba" . Hurry up so she's stop wailing to about tribalism contributes to her poor hiring in that industry. Big producer ni, big producers ko. |

CrtlAltDel:This dumb idiot can't even decipher simple english. Someone please translate what I'm about to write to that jiggaboo ngbat1 language for him to grasp. Igbo makes up the bulk of the english speaking nollywood. Fact! Hausa makes up the bulk of Kannywood fact Igbo makes up the bulk of igbo wood Fact Yoruba makes up the bulk of yoruba speaking industry fact. Your shameless asses are a minority in the english movie industry hence even when that industry dribbles in traditional plots aka kings, etc, the plots stays in predominately igbo culture or occasionally ibibio, culture and your actors and actress has to play within that culture. If you're relevant, your culture would have been what dominated the english speaking plots yet funny enough, it never does. Speaks volume Like I said Earlier even a blind goat knows your desperately reaching Hard!! |

totit:I did exactly that 12 our of 38 are yoruba produced and written. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_Nigerian_films Mind you this list is a mixture of several years. In addition nollywood is known for one thing quantity of movies per annual. You even tried to be relevant from collection of movies from each years added together ![]() Btw: Rukky Sanda isn't the only one that spoke of igbo dominance in English speaking nollywood. Halima Abubakar also spoke of it Norbet Young equally spoke of it and had an interview where he stated that nollywood should be renamed igbowood due to the dominance of Igbos in that industry. Nollywood is another undeniable case of Igbo ingenuity. Let us tell ourselves the truth! Every tribe has its own contributions, but Nollywood is a multi-billion dollar movie industry created in 1991 by Igbo traders in Iweka Road, Onitsha who wanted to get people to buy VCDs, and it worked!. Big ups to the Igbos! |
| Re: b by Nonaira1: 5:47pm On Aug 26, 2017 |
julietm123:You dey mind am. Even the history of that industry slaps them in the face. It is stated that the movie industry started from theaters which Afonja dominated.. that industry made zero wave, nor even expanded past their Afonja territory, heck even foreign movies out did them in their own country. That movie industry didn't make a huge surge until the introduction of living in bondage. ![]() Like I said I'll take Afonja industry and pitiful attempt to take credit of nollywood progress seriously the day I see there Afonja speaking industry surge past Afonja land. Heck igbowood started literally few years ago yet I'm already seeing it's movies in African stores here in US. Hell last two weeks I took my little sister to get her hair done at the African braiding store in main street. Got there and the movie playing was an igbo speaking Nigerian movie. Mind you the owner of that store and her workers were from Ivory Coast, not igbo. the industry just restarted ooo and just like living in bondage, osofia, etc reached past igboland despite the language was igbo, the new ones seems to be going that part. I'll take Afonja ass seriously the day their movies goes past their region and their actors/actress don't have to keep begging or transferring to english soaking just to survive. |

totit: does this fool truly believe 38 movies is what made nollywood one of the fastest movie industry in the world? Is this Afonja serious? Are you that desperate? You have to be seriously brain dead to the core to believe Nollywood progress falls underneath those 38 movies. Nollywood produces thousands of movies per day and very few of it are theater released movies. What was counted in your gross was THEATER RELEASED movies you dumb goat. The movie that started multiple documentary in Nollywood due to it's spread among the caribbeans in London and America Aka Osofia in London was not in your list. why? because it was not theater released. Blackberry babe which I can personally PERSONALLY tell you when it first came out was one of the most watched nollywood movie in African community in America was not in your list. You wanna know why? It is not theater released you incompetent rat. Did this really needed to be explain to you? Like how brain dead do you get? Like Seriously? You Afonja continue to get pathetic and pitiful with each pass day. Like I told the other girl, I'll take you lots seriously the day your afonja speaking movie industry goes past your afonja land. Heck if you couldn't expand your cinema past nigeria and the western movies dominated you that Gowon had to step you to help. The Bleep makes una delude yourself you had any contribution to expanding nollywood to what it is currently. All you Afonja did was jump in the band wagon and tried to assert yourself as part of the relevant when you weren't. And no you did read the article sending it to me to read. As you actually provided it to me by stating and I quote 'here's the list of the most gross nollywood list" immediately after your reply to the wikipedia list I gave you. Your save facing attempt makes you look more pathetic! |

totit:So 38 movies made nollywood? ![]() I'm just going to leave you with this quotation. The following are the highest-grossing Nigerian films of all time in Nigerian cinemas. Revenues from special screenings, DVD sales, online streaming and theatrical screenings outside Nigeria are excluded from this gross total. Films before 2000s are also excluded from this list as their gross totals have not been inflation adjusted.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_Nigerian_films Next time READ and COMPREHEND before quoting sh1t you dumbass. READ. READ it is not hard to READ!!!!! I'll repeat it once more Igbo dominate Nollywood as even attested by authors and actress in that industry. |

totit:Th words of HALIMA ABUBAKAR (actress in Nollywood), RUKKY SANDA (Actress in Nollywood), NORBERT YOUNG (Actor in Nollywood) , AZUH AMATUS (Actor in Nollywood), UCHE JUMBO (Actress in Nollywood). Even your own Kunle Afolayan attested during his apology for blaming Igbo for piracy that there are more igbo movies out there (PRODUCERS or whatever the heck he is in Nollywood) The AGN is dominated and manipulated by the English speaking actors who are mostly from the Igbo tribe while the non-English speaking actors belong to another professional body.AZUH AMATUS Attached in a book by Johnathan Haynes titled Nollywood: The Creation of Nigerian Film Genres written in 2016. Written AFTER several years of direct engagement with people in that industry. Yeah I'll believe the people in the people in the industry as well as an author who interacted and asked several people in the industry over your pathetic attempt of attachment.
