We try to recreate the world to our own taste and pattern. God created them all, man and woman. The Bible refer to Him as the Alpha and Omega. He knows what a quiet time between a woman and a man leads to and He still created them Male and Female.
Procreation was not the only reason why God created Eve for Adam.
He said "it is not good for a man to be alone"
Translate the above anyway you wish but Sex was always on the menu.

Don't demonize sex like God is going to kill you.
Sodom and Gomorrah was burnt cuz their idea of life was changing from the script of God.

Op, Sex between couples is for pleasure as well as procreation. Paul became celibate, because he chose to. He admonished the early Christians to get married if they cant stay celibàte.. U see, that statement alone means sex is not just for procreation but also for pleasure within couples.

What's the source for these things you say as it's certainly not the bible, celibacy according to the bible was under personal steps. The bible never stated that all the disciples were celibate.

it wasn't the act that got Onan killed. It was the motive. He inherited his brother's wife and was supposed to raise offspring for the dead brother (as was the custom). He however chose to play smart; having sex with the woman, but slyly avoiding getting her pregnant because he 'knew the offspring would not be his'.

Who told you that the Son of Judah did i for fun? It is because he, during the sexual act later think, -why should I give my late brother a child, was he not wicked to us while he was alife, common man, am not impregnating his sweet widow, let me pour it out, you scum bag!...." The marriages in the bible were traditional. The wedding at Cana was traditional. The old testament wedding g were traditional. The weddings in the new testament are traditional. Church weddings came in, as you said, less than 1000 years ago.

The other day I was saying that lady that got pregnant after traditional wedding and before church wedding was certified to. People came for me here on nairaland. The church refused to do wedding for her. Why?

Bible says, therefore, a man shall leave his father and mother. Which part of the wedding ceremonies do the parents permit you to leave and follow your spouse, TRADITIONAL.

The blessings Bible regards for marriage is your parents, not the priest. Church weddings is just an addition.

But then, people don't study the word with an open heart. We have carried doctrines above and beyond. Our hearts are rigid. Anyone that doesn't agree with us is saying nonsense.

As for me, I'll likely do church wedding because of my wife. But I'll recognise the traditional and court. And I can have sex after them. I believe God's hand is on the marriage already.

Genesis 38:9

God killed him not because he poured the semen on the floor but because of the reason he poured it (evil).
And knowing the children will not be his, he poured the semen on the floor.

Truth is, Christianity is one of the most corrupted religion.
The Bible, over a long period, has undergone series of additions and subtractions.
This is why even those who practice it are a bit confused.
In addition to christ, some equally involves
Mary,
some Angels,
others candles,
some papas/GOs,
oil,
handkerchief,
some tell ladies to cover, some say no need.
In the past, they preached only repentance and rapture,
today, they emphasise more on material prosperity.
Once upon a time, sex outside marriage was a huge sin,
