BiggyBamBam:Ports in Lagos were developed and run by the private sector, not government. Lagos state government is always looking out for nonfunctional or abandoned Federal projects and facilities with the view to take them over and develop them with the help of the private sector.Likewise, other SW states are known to help out in reconstruction of federal roads( with the exception of Ekiti since Fayose became governor). The big question now is why are your governors not doing the same thing for their people. You should learn to direct your complaints to the right quarters. |

whizzyleejr:Exactly, who ever wants to develop ibadan should be ready for ibadan people wrath!..that is the sin of Ajimobi,go to ibadan and see good roads courtesy of ajimobi, but ibadan people prefer amala and money sharing government of Akala....Even if you Bleep up,they can even report you to your mum. I was told when awolowo was building the first modern stadium in africa, liberty stadium,in ibadan.Ibadan people were like "Awolowo fe fi ogbon gba ile wa fun awon ijebu"meaning Awolowo wants to cunningly snatch our land for ijebus"......and when he was building cocoa house, they were like "owo ti o ye ki a ma pin ni awolowo fi n ko ile gogoro"....meaning,Awolowo is using the money we supposed to share among ourselves to build skyscraper! ![]() Ibadan people never love awolowo just like ajimobi.Although,Ajimobi really Bleep up on lautech and salary issue! |

Maduawuchukwu:Baba, it is new foreign investment which means such investor's brand name has never existed in Nigeria and this investment is on production/manufacturing sector not consumption. |

What criteria is used for this? They don't count all the new buildings, medium-scale farms, schools, shops, small and medium scale industries as investment inflows? A lot of these things are projects funded by Nigerians abroad sending money back here. They may be called kobo-kobo projects, but if you multiply 1 Million naira by 10,000 people (an underestimation if you ask me), you can easily reach 10 Billion Naira per-year in so-called "foreign investment" by Nigerians in the diaspora. And these are being sent to many states, not just the 5 mentioned. |

Maduawuchukwu:Those malls are likely to be brand chains and the FDI will be credited to the location where the Nigerian headoffice is. That is why Lagos gets a lot of mention simply because most enterprises have their headoffices in there. |
