Got the email too. I'm considering IPS uniport and Shell Centre of Excellence uniben for MSc in Petroleum geoscience.

I also don't have admission yet and I'm yet to apply to either of these schools. Would it be wise to include in the ptdf form that I haven't secured admission while still hoping to apply to IPS or COE uniben for admission into this year's program? Is ptdf likely to make arrangements to accommodate this?

And which do you think is better? IPS or CoE uniben.

Thanks bro. What you said is true. Also there was a meeting with the directors of these institutes. ptdf can help you get admission in these institutes. Ask anybody in IPS how many persons were admitted for the next batch or Ask last year scholars that got AUST Abuja or CGP UNIPORT or OTI after the induction. As long as you meet their requirements, can pass the entrance exam and can pay the fees, bro, something can be done about it. They are also in the business of making money although impacting quality knowledge is their primary business.

@all. It is advisable to apply for LSS if one badly needs a postgraduate degree. However try to secure admission in those oil and gas sponsored school that PTDF partners with to enjoy high quality education that is lacking in most Nigerian schools and avoid strike.

In some of the schools, you have opportuntinity to intern in oil and gas companies and from there you can find your way to employment if you are good.

In last year outcome, over 65% of applicants shortlisted for LSS MSc test and PhD interviews combined eventually got LSS Scholarship.

Search google for the instutute. They will show you their site. I guess the site should explain better.

You can search LinkedIn, Facebook and other social media sites for people who attended these schools, connect with them and ask necessary questions

Fees for the program is 1.45 million. Its a good program, they will prepare u for NEBOSH register u with ISPON and many more.

The truth is that their graduates have high chances in the industry, world bank partners with them sometimes. Just like IPS and CGRP, they also go for internship after 6months study. But just like there are IPS graduates still looking for jobs after 2 to 3 yrs, the program doesnt guarantee u a job

This is very satisfying explanation, thanks a lot, between their occupational safety and environmental tech, which do you think has more prospects? of course I know that even the best courses doesn't guarantee employment, but one has to position him/herself for opportunities.

My brother both has a lot of prospects.
If u studied civil or environmental engr, go for environmental tech. there will be lots of opportunities especially in the niger delta where pollution is ravaging
If u studied any other course, go for safety, almost every company needs safety personnel. Wen u finish the program u can even apply to any company and claim 2 yrs experience because u will be able to defend it

Sure, I studied Petroleum Engineering, so you're saying my best bet is Safety?, I was thinking about going for Environmental and adding stuff like NEBOSH and other certifications to it.

Environmental technology is a civil engr related course. It is handled by civil engineering lecturers and professionals. If u want to have the chance of getting jobs outside the petroleum industry go for safety.
