The degree of stimulation that is required to put a person out of these states is what differentiates them.

Tho I haven't read all the comments before commenting but in field of medicine, there is room for possibility of anything. So the notion by saying it isn't possible is false. It might be possible that no case of such impossibility(ies) has been reported.

It was a visual hallucination while i was put under by an anaesthetist. I thought that the doctor gave me 2 injections- but it didnt happen.

It's possible. It depends on the type of anaesthesia used. I don't think you were in coma or unconscious though

Op it's obvious the doctor used the anaesthetic; ketamine on you. This anaesthetic, due to it's unpleasant psychological effects (e.g. nightmares and hallucinations) is restricted to high-risk patients, although it's a good analgesic.

Hypnagogia simply means the progress from being awake to falling asleep. It is characterized by a whole lot of stuffs including hallucinations.

In Jack's case, since he said it happened after he got the anaesthesia, it definitely would be triggered by the anaesthesia. Examples are Ketamine and Nitrous oxide.


However, Ketamine is much more associated with Dissociative hallucinations like out of body experience and near death experience.

Interesting. The surgery was about two hours but it felt like 5 mins. I cant really say when the hallucination started
